內(nèi)容概要
本教材為高等學(xué)校英語拓展系列教程之一,供大學(xué)公共英語高年級選修課英語視聽說類課程選用。全書共分八個單元,精選了八部經(jīng)典影片,涉及生命,愛情,文化沖突,時尚等激發(fā)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)興趣的主題。每個單元分為三個板塊:Movie Exploration, Culture Reflection 和Language Appreciation,分別對電影主題,電影所反映的文化現(xiàn)象以及電影對白做了深入剖析和學(xué)習(xí),并在各板塊中設(shè)計了相應(yīng)的課堂活動,形式多樣,有利于教師開展課堂教學(xué)。

The brutal war begins with Achilles and his Myrmidons who seized thetemple of Apollo at a lightening speed. Offended by Achilles distain,Agamemnon takes his prize Briseis away from him, which makes Achillesdecide to sit the next battle out. After Paris challenges Menelaus and isdefeated, Hector kills Menelaus to protect Paris and the battle continues.Without Achilles and his Myrmidons, the Greeks are beaten heavily.Achilles young cousin Patroclus fights in Achilles armor and helmet and is killed by Hector. Consumed with grief and spurred by rage, Achilles demands that Hector come out to face him. The two greatest warriorsare engaged intrepidly in the life and death dual, ending in Achilles killing Hector. 12 days later, the Greeks pretend to have left, leaving a largewooden horse outside the city gates. The Trojans take the horse into thecity and celebrate the victory. At night several Greeks climb out of the horse and open the gates of Troy to their soldiers. In the turmoil Paris comes and shoots an arrow at Achilles heel, his fatal weakness. Afterthe Greeks storm into the inner palace only to find that Achilles is already dead, the batte ends.
