前言

　　《專業(yè)英語(yǔ)視聽(tīng)說(shuō)》教材是依據(jù)教育部《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)課程教學(xué)要求》的文件精神，聘請(qǐng)國(guó)內(nèi)知名學(xué)者組成專家指導(dǎo)委員會(huì)，由全國(guó)30余所著名高等院校的外語(yǔ)教授和相關(guān)專業(yè)教授等教學(xué)專家聯(lián)袂編寫的一套視聽(tīng)說(shuō)一體化教材。編寫這套教材的目的是為了把現(xiàn)代科技和現(xiàn)代英語(yǔ)教學(xué)理念相結(jié)合，立足英語(yǔ)教學(xué)改革，更新教育觀念，依靠多媒體技術(shù)和多樣化課堂教學(xué)模式的支持，實(shí)現(xiàn)學(xué)生聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、讀、寫能力的綜合演練，從而改進(jìn)和提高英語(yǔ)教學(xué)效果。全套教材以教育部最新公布的專業(yè)目錄為依據(jù)，涉及文、史、經(jīng)濟(jì)、理、工、農(nóng)、醫(yī)等20多個(gè)學(xué)科方向，覆蓋100多個(gè)專業(yè)領(lǐng)域，堪稱目前國(guó)內(nèi)最大規(guī)模的專業(yè)英語(yǔ)系列教材。　　本系列教材有以下兩個(gè)最突出的特點(diǎn)：　　1.教材內(nèi)容板塊精心設(shè)計(jì)，既注意借鑒國(guó)外教材的先進(jìn)理念，吸納多年來(lái)我國(guó)外語(yǔ)教學(xué)積累的經(jīng)驗(yàn)，又充分照顧了中國(guó)學(xué)生的思維方式和英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣。這套教材包括視聽(tīng)說(shuō)教學(xué)用書(shū)、DVD教學(xué)光盤和點(diǎn)讀筆三部分（點(diǎn)讀筆屬于可選項(xiàng)，老師和學(xué)生可以根據(jù)自己的實(shí)際需要選擇是否使用），每?jī)?cè)書(shū)都包含16篇短文和高清晰的配套視頻資料。所有的音像視頻資料均由澳大利亞classmomvideo、德國(guó)Dw、加拿大VEc等公司提供版權(quán)，并經(jīng)過(guò)國(guó)內(nèi)專業(yè)英語(yǔ)權(quán)威專家組共同篩選審定，內(nèi)容涉及面廣、取材新穎、難易適度，充分反映了各個(gè)學(xué)科的最新學(xué)術(shù)成果和發(fā)展方向。紙質(zhì)教材板塊的設(shè)計(jì)充分考慮了中國(guó)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)專業(yè)英語(yǔ)的特點(diǎn)和目標(biāo)，內(nèi)容濃縮了大量的專業(yè)詞匯和專業(yè)用法，反映了各個(gè)學(xué)科的基本理論和基本概念，內(nèi)容包括：①引導(dǎo)部分（介紹該單元主題的背景知識(shí)、教學(xué)重點(diǎn)、難點(diǎn)等）；②視聽(tīng)說(shuō)演練（緊扣視頻內(nèi)容，設(shè)計(jì)視頻主題討論、完成視頻問(wèn)題等互動(dòng)形式）；③附錄文章（圍繞該單元主題，介紹某一方面的學(xué)科發(fā)展、前沿知識(shí)等內(nèi)容）。教材中設(shè)計(jì)了大量的練習(xí)，練習(xí)的形式活潑多樣，注意與視頻內(nèi)容的完美結(jié)合和有機(jī)互動(dòng)，能夠同時(shí)調(diào)動(dòng)教師和學(xué)生雙方的積極性，促使他們采用多媒體、多樣化課堂教學(xué)模式，開(kāi)展視、聽(tīng)、說(shuō)綜合實(shí)踐演練活動(dòng)，充分體現(xiàn)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)的實(shí)用性、文化性和趣味性?！　?.努力把現(xiàn)代科技引入課堂教學(xué)實(shí)踐，從而提高教學(xué)的互動(dòng)性、趣味性，改善教學(xué)效果。多媒體教學(xué)是現(xiàn)代教學(xué)改革的一個(gè)目標(biāo)，如何利用好多媒體技術(shù)，使這個(gè)技術(shù)不僅在形式上，更在實(shí)質(zhì)內(nèi)容上改變課堂教學(xué)模式，實(shí)現(xiàn)多樣化教學(xué)、互動(dòng)性教學(xué)，這也是現(xiàn)代教學(xué)改革的一個(gè)關(guān)鍵問(wèn)題。這套教材在這個(gè)問(wèn)題上進(jìn)行了一次有益的嘗試。配套視頻資料、教材內(nèi)文設(shè)計(jì)以及點(diǎn)讀筆支持功能等都可以幫助師生在多模式教學(xué)的改革之路上大膽前行。

　　But how were these builders able to lift these enormous blocks 140 meters up？ ForAll kinds of hypotheses have seen the light over the years. Some have even proposed that Cheops was the work of extraterrestrial beings！　　Thus， it is that throughout the world there have been people fascinated by this civiliza-tion， who without any archeological training， have tried to elucidate the secrets. For JeanLouis Lespagnol， building engineer， Cheops is a client！　　When I got down to studying the construction of the pyramid， I imagined it hadnt yetbeen constructed and that Cheops had just given me the job of building it. I have worked inbuilding and I said to myself， there is another technique in building which consists of or-ganizing men and organizing machines.　　Convinced of finding the solution， Jean Louis Lespagnol worked in secret in his base-ment for eight years. There he used all the material which was available during the time ofthe Pharaohs　wood for the raising implements and hemp for the ropes. Everything was ex-amined minutely　the weight， the friction， the length of cables.　　His theory ： the Egyptians used the sides of the pyramid to raise the stone blocks. Theworkers who were in charge of pulling the blocks were at the opposite end of the buildingsite， where they formed enormous human gears to raise the blocks. According to his calcu-lations， a team of 670 workers could in this way raise a block of 3 tons. And several teamsworked side by side. Like this， they were able to achieve the rate of a block every three mi-nutes， rate necessary to finish the building in 30 years.　　But for Jeannot Perello， mechanic living in a small village in the Alsatian region inFrance， this theory doesnt hold. His idea is that the Egyptians used an ingenious woodenmachine. To prove his theory， Jeannot Perello worked day and night to create this machine.He admits himself that his approach stems more from dream than from science.　　Two years ago I had a dream， and in my dream I was flying right above the Valley ofthe Kings， and I saw a half-buih pyramid without its tip.
