本書共五章，分別為機械與模具制造、計算機數(shù)控、電子與信息技術(shù)、應(yīng)用技術(shù)（前4章共26單元）和職業(yè)現(xiàn)場的交際技能訓(xùn)練（第5章共8單元）。前4章每單元包括課文、生詞、專業(yè)術(shù)語、長難句解析、翻譯技巧和閱讀材料，在第4章各單元的實用英語中，分別用相當(dāng)篇幅介紹了怎樣閱讀機電產(chǎn)品的英文說明書、怎樣讀懂英文招聘廣告、怎樣用英文寫個人簡歷、求職信等應(yīng)用文體，以及英語面試過程中的常用技巧。第5章匯編了8單元職業(yè)現(xiàn)場的交際對話內(nèi)容。附錄提供了各單元的參考譯文、部分習(xí)題答案和生詞表，以減輕教師備課的負(fù)擔(dān)和學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的難度。
