國外翻譯研究叢書

前言

　　上海外語教育出版社從成立以來一直是我國外語教育最優(yōu)秀的后勤部和偵調(diào)部。因?yàn)樗坏珵槲覈鱾€(gè)層次（尤其本科與研究生層次）的外語教育提供了多種高水平的教材、教參和工具書，而且還出版了多學(xué)科、多語種和多系列的中文版和外文版的學(xué)術(shù)著作，比如“現(xiàn)代語言學(xué)叢書”、“牛津應(yīng)用語言學(xué)叢書”、“美國文學(xué)史論譯叢”、“外國文學(xué)史叢書”、“劍橋文學(xué)指南叢書”、“當(dāng)代英語語言學(xué)叢書”以及列入國家及教育部規(guī)劃的人文社科重點(diǎn)項(xiàng)目的外國語言文學(xué)、文化等方面的圖書等。為了適應(yīng)我國現(xiàn)代化建設(shè)和教育改革的需要，還出版了一批國際金融、對外貿(mào)易、涉外保險(xiǎn)、國際經(jīng)濟(jì)法、國際新聞和管理科學(xué)等方面的教材與專著。這些著作在外語的學(xué)科建設(shè)與學(xué)術(shù)研究以及復(fù)合型人才培養(yǎng)等方面都在發(fā)揮著強(qiáng)有力的偵察、調(diào)研和指導(dǎo)作用。這是外語界有口皆碑的。　　隨著中外文化交流的縱深發(fā)展以及我國現(xiàn)代化建設(shè)對人才的需求，對比語言學(xué)和翻譯學(xué)近些年來在我國有了較快的發(fā)展，最突出的證據(jù)就是①外語類碩士博士點(diǎn)上研究對比與翻譯方向的學(xué)生在逐年迅速增多，而且我們的高校已經(jīng)有了翻譯學(xué)院和翻譯系（當(dāng)然還太少）。②外語專業(yè)的學(xué)生考中文、法律等其他人文社科專業(yè)的碩士、博士以及反方向的走向已經(jīng)起步。這種跨學(xué)科的人才已成為人才資源競爭的最主要對象，因此發(fā)展趨勢定會看好。上海外語教育出版社為適應(yīng)這種高層次人才培養(yǎng)和新學(xué)科建設(shè)的需要，不但積極出版國內(nèi)關(guān)于對比研究和翻譯研究的專著和論文集，最近又推出了原版“國外翻譯研究叢書”，這套叢書時(shí)間跨度叢古代到現(xiàn)代，所選書目皆為譯學(xué)發(fā)展史上有里程碑作用的名家名著，堪稱譯學(xué)經(jīng)典。他們計(jì)劃分批出版，以滿足讀者的需求。

內(nèi)容概要

本書作者指出翻譯不僅僅是語言層次上的轉(zhuǎn)換，它更是譯者對原作所進(jìn)行的文化層面上的改寫。作者在書中引進(jìn)了“改寫”（rewriting）這個(gè)重要概念，它泛指對文學(xué)原作進(jìn)行的翻譯、改寫、編撰選集（anthology）、批評（criticism）和編輯（editing）等各種加工和調(diào)整的過程。作者指出，在不同的歷史條件下，改寫主要受到意識形態(tài)（ideology）和詩學(xué)形態(tài)（poetology）兩方面的限制。改寫者往往會對原作進(jìn)行一定程度上的調(diào)整，以使其與改寫者所處時(shí)期主流意識形態(tài)和詩學(xué)形態(tài)相符，從而達(dá)到讓改寫的作品被盡可能多的讀者接受的目的。 　　本書在論證的過程中，引用了多國歷代文學(xué)名著的翻譯實(shí)例，分析研究了他們在不同時(shí)期被不同的人進(jìn)行改寫的過程。這些實(shí)例都具有相當(dāng)濃厚的文化色彩和時(shí)代代表性，令讀者在熟悉翻譯理論的同時(shí)能夠領(lǐng)略到世界文學(xué)殿堂的奧妙。

作者簡介

安德烈·勒菲弗爾，翻譯研究領(lǐng)域世界一流的學(xué)術(shù)帶頭人。著術(shù)豐厚，包括《詩歌翻譯：七種策略和一個(gè)藍(lán)圖》(Translation Poetry：Seven Strategies and a Blueprint)、《翻譯、改寫以及對文學(xué)名聲的制控》(Translation，Rewriting and the Manipulation of Literary Fame)等。

　　Which advertises, incorporates, and supportsthem. Whoever identifies the goal of literary studies as such with theinterpretation of texts will either have no explanation for thesephenomena, or else have somewhat embarrassed recourse tovague notions such as fate. It is my contention that the processresulting in the acceptance or rejection, canonization or non-canonization of literary works is dominated not by vague, but byvery concrete factors that are relatively easy to discern as soon asone decides to look for them, that is as soon as one eschewsinterpretation as the core literary studies and begins to addressissues such as power, ideology, institution, and manipulation. Assoon as one does this, one also realizes that rewriting in all its formsoccupies a dominant position among the concrete factors justreferred to. This book is an attempt to emphasize both theimportance of rewriting as the motor force behind literaryevolution, and the necessity for further in-depth study of thephenomenon. Rewriters have always been with us, from the Greek slave whoput together anthologies of the Greek classics to teach the childrenof his Roman masters, to the Renaissance scholar who collatedvarious manuscripts and scraps of manuscripts to publish a more orless reliable edition of a Greek or Roman classic.
