　　本書為《綜合訓(xùn)練》第2冊，共10個單元，每單元都由Text·Related
Exercises和：ExercisesforPRETCO兩部分組成，題型涵蓋英語基本構(gòu)詞法、詞匯、結(jié)構(gòu)等語言知識以及針對高等學(xué)校英語應(yīng)用能力考試的實用性閱讀理解與翻譯技能，鞏固并提高學(xué)生課堂所學(xué)和實際應(yīng)用能力。
　　“大學(xué)實用英語”系列教材是根據(jù)《國家中長期教育改革和發(fā)展規(guī)劃綱要（2010-2020年）》和教育部高教司頒布的《高職高專教育英語課程教學(xué)基本要求（試行）》編寫的。各教材認真貫徹“實用為主、夠用為度”，“聽、說、讀、寫、譯并重”以及“邊學(xué)邊用、學(xué)用結(jié)合”的原則，根據(jù)《基本要求》的詞匯表裁剪語料和生詞量，根據(jù)《高職高專教育英語課程教學(xué)基本要求（試行）》的交際范圍表選取聽說、實用文體閱讀和實用寫作的題材，注重培養(yǎng)學(xué)生實際運用語言的能力，突出教學(xué)內(nèi)容的實用性和針對性。
　　本套教材包括《綜合教程》、《聽說教程》、《綜合訓(xùn)練》、《教學(xué)導(dǎo)引》各兩冊及《寫作教程》一冊。第1冊配有《B級試卷庫與模擬題》，學(xué)完第1冊各教材可參加“高等學(xué)校英語應(yīng)用能力考試”的B級考試；第2冊配有《A級試卷庫與模擬題》，學(xué)完第2冊各教材可參加“高等學(xué)校英語應(yīng)用能力考試”的A級考試。
　　本書適合普通高等職業(yè)院校、高等?？茖W(xué)校以及成人高等學(xué)校和本科院校職業(yè)技術(shù)學(xué)院的各專業(yè)學(xué)生用作輔導(dǎo)教材，也可供相同層次的院校用作教學(xué)參考書，還可供廣大相關(guān)教師及研究人員參考。

Charles Willson Peale is best remembered for his portraits of leading figures of the American Revolution.　He painted portraits of Franklin and Jefferson and over a dozen of George Washington.
