Since its first publication in 1976,Cohesion in English has established itself as a standard textbook.It is concerned with a relatively neglected part of the linguistic system:its resources for text comstruction,the range of meanings that are specifically associated with relating what is being said or written to its semantic environment,A principal component of these resources is'cohesion.    This book studies the cohesion that arises from semantic relations between sentences.Reference from one to the other,repetition of word meanings,the conjunctive force of but,so,then and the like are considered.Further,it describes a method for analysing and coding sentences,which is applied to specimen texts.

漢語(yǔ)版沒(méi)的說(shuō) 英文版印刷質(zhì)量一般翻譯上張德祿已經(jīng)做得很好了但是不能完全按照翻譯理解
建議和中譯本一起買(mǎi)

在新加坡國(guó)立大學(xué)中央圖書(shū)館看到這本書(shū)，在國(guó)內(nèi)終于買(mǎi)到了
經(jīng)典之作，但是有難度，如果有基礎(chǔ)的話讀起來(lái)會(huì)比較容易懂。
這本書(shū)的內(nèi)容，我就不用說(shuō)了。買(mǎi)的人自是沖著它的經(jīng)典內(nèi)容去的。但書(shū)的質(zhì)量真的不敢說(shuō)好。
可以說(shuō)，這本書(shū)是我在當(dāng)當(dāng)網(wǎng)上買(mǎi)到的最差的一本書(shū)。
正文內(nèi)容，就像是ＰＤＦ的打印版，我們大家買(mǎi)不到書(shū)的時(shí)候常有過(guò)這種經(jīng)歷的，將ＰＤＦ放到打印店去打印?，F(xiàn)在我買(mǎi)的這本書(shū)，正文部分跟那種很像。
是不是正版，我不敢說(shuō)，畢竟我也不干出版這行，怎么評(píng)判是否正版，沒(méi)有標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。但僅就張德祿先生的導(dǎo)讀部分，我看出來(lái)的就５處錯(cuò)誤。
　　這本書(shū)讀起來(lái)費(fèi)勁，寫(xiě)的東西從表面上看很容易讀懂，可是細(xì)看下去卻有點(diǎn)深，本書(shū)大多取自Hasan的博士論文！總的來(lái)說(shuō)我覺(jué)得學(xué)習(xí)篇章語(yǔ)言學(xué)，進(jìn)行語(yǔ)篇分析的人還是很需要看這本書(shū)的，為理論打好基礎(chǔ)嘛！
