《英語》下冊為專門用途（醫(yī)學(xué)）英語階段，供基礎(chǔ)英語階段后教學(xué)使用，課文以學(xué)科普和醫(yī)學(xué)基礎(chǔ)知識方面的內(nèi)容為主，并適當(dāng)反映高科技在醫(yī)學(xué)中的應(yīng)用，如計算機網(wǎng)絡(luò)遠(yuǎn)程衛(wèi)生保障、醫(yī)療、護理、教學(xué)等，旨在培養(yǎng)醫(yī)學(xué)生借助詞典，能基本讀懂與醫(yī)學(xué)相關(guān)的參考資料和應(yīng)用文?！　”緝怨?個單元。聽說2個單元共8劉要，每課4學(xué)時；閱讀2個單元共12課，每課6課時；寫作2個單元共2課，每課4學(xué)時。課后四個附錄：《常用醫(yī)學(xué)編寫詞》、《醫(yī)院部分科室和醫(yī)務(wù)人員名稱》、《常用標(biāo)識用語》及《藥品說明書》，應(yīng)安排適當(dāng)學(xué)時，指導(dǎo)學(xué)生認(rèn)讀。教師可以根據(jù)不同的專業(yè)，不同學(xué)制層次的要求，靈活采用，進行教學(xué)。專門用途英語階段教學(xué)時數(shù)應(yīng)不少于60學(xué)時。
