前言

隨著2l世紀(jì)全球化時(shí)代的到來(lái),中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)興旺發(fā)達(dá),教育事業(yè)蓬勃發(fā)展,尤其是終身學(xué)習(xí)的觀念已經(jīng)深入人心,英語(yǔ)課程教學(xué)已經(jīng)成為我國(guó)各種學(xué)歷與非學(xué)歷教育的一個(gè)不可或缺的部分,英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)也已成為我國(guó)當(dāng)代公民提高自身素質(zhì)和職業(yè)競(jìng)爭(zhēng)優(yōu)勢(shì)的重要途徑。因此,為了給廣大的英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)者,特別是正在接受成人教育的莘莘學(xué)子們,提供一個(gè)英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)過(guò)程中的成功伴侶,我們經(jīng)過(guò)對(duì)當(dāng)前中國(guó)各個(gè)層次英語(yǔ)教學(xué)對(duì)象、教學(xué)目標(biāo)、教學(xué)環(huán)境的調(diào)研,根據(jù)“江蘇省成人高等教育非英語(yǔ)專業(yè)??朴⒄Z(yǔ)課程考試大綱(試行)”,創(chuàng)新性地編寫了這套體現(xiàn)時(shí)代真實(shí)性、趣味性、前瞻性的英語(yǔ)教材。顯然,充分滿足成人英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)者及教育者的需求既是我們編寫這套教材的出發(fā)點(diǎn)也是終結(jié)點(diǎn);國(guó)內(nèi)外英語(yǔ)教學(xué)相關(guān)的語(yǔ)言學(xué)及應(yīng)用語(yǔ)言學(xué)領(lǐng)域最新研究成果是我們編寫這套教材的科學(xué)依據(jù);重視以學(xué)生為中心、教師為主導(dǎo)的外語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)過(guò)程是我們編寫這套教材的關(guān)鍵;創(chuàng)建一個(gè)英語(yǔ)輸入與輸出循環(huán)實(shí)踐體系,即聽、說(shuō)、讀、寫、譯立體化的英語(yǔ)使用環(huán)境是我們編寫這套教材的愿望;引領(lǐng)學(xué)生在使用英語(yǔ)過(guò)程中成功有效地提高其語(yǔ)言流利度、準(zhǔn)確度、復(fù)雜度是我們編寫這套教材的宗旨;激發(fā)我們的學(xué)生在英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)的過(guò)程中找回自信、享受快樂(lè)、磨練意志、獲得成功是我們編寫這套教材的理想。同時(shí),我們也希望廣大的成人英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)者在這套教材的鼎力幫助下,有效地提高聽力理解、詞語(yǔ)用法與語(yǔ)法結(jié)構(gòu)、閱讀理解、完型填空、英譯漢、漢譯英、寫作等方面的考試成績(jī)。本套教材框架和內(nèi)容設(shè)計(jì)如下:全套教材共分3冊(cè),每?jī)?cè)配有相應(yīng)的教師參考書,并附贈(zèng)聽力光盤。每?jī)?cè)分12個(gè)單元。每單元設(shè)一個(gè)主題(Theme),即以主課文(Text A)的主題為中心,其他副課文(Text B)、補(bǔ)充閱讀、聽說(shuō)等內(nèi)容的話題都與主題密切相關(guān),以便學(xué)生充分利用主課文中已學(xué)過(guò)的語(yǔ)言素材進(jìn)行聽說(shuō)訓(xùn)練,提高其語(yǔ)言運(yùn)用能力。每個(gè)單元含有閱讀技巧介紹,全套內(nèi)容循序漸進(jìn),難度逐漸加大,所涉及的示例及練習(xí)也主要取材于單元課文本身;每單元配有語(yǔ)法介紹,內(nèi)容由淺人深,重視基礎(chǔ)訓(xùn)練;每單元還系統(tǒng)地設(shè)計(jì)了寫作策略培訓(xùn),從構(gòu)句認(rèn)知,到句子組合連接、段落構(gòu)建及應(yīng)用寫作,著眼于扎實(shí)的基礎(chǔ)性寫作訓(xùn)練。

But it changed my life.When my friend and I started Microsoft 30 years ago, we imagined a computer onevery desk and in every home. It was a time when most computers were the size offridges. But we believed that personal computers would change the world. And theyhave.I believe that computers are the most wonderful tool we can use to feed ourcuriosity and help us solve problems that even the most clever people couldn't solve ontheir own.Computers have completely changed how we learn, giving kids everywhere awindow into all of the world's knowledge. They're helping us to stay close.I believe that my own good luck brings with it the responsibility to give back to theworld. My wife and I are devoted to improving health and education in a way that canhelp as many people as possible.I believe that progress on even the world's toughest problems is possible——and it'shappening every day. We're seeing new drugs for deadly diseases, new medical equip-ment, and new attention paid to the health problems in the developing world.I'm excited by the bright future I see for medicine, for education and, of course,for technology.
