前言

　　《輪機(jī)英語聽說教程》是根據(jù)交通部2004年8月1日頒布實(shí)施的《中華人民共和國海船船員適任證書考試、評(píng)估和發(fā)證規(guī)則》（簡稱“04規(guī)則”），依據(jù)《STCW78／95公約》和交通部教育司頒發(fā)的《航海職業(yè)教育教學(xué)計(jì)劃和教學(xué)大綱》，為適應(yīng)海船船員的航海實(shí)踐和航海技術(shù)的發(fā)展以及國際海員勞務(wù)發(fā)展趨勢的新要求而編寫的，是專門為輪機(jī)英語專業(yè)聽力與會(huì)話課程教學(xué)編寫的一本教材。　　本教材以英語為載體，傳遞最新的航海技術(shù)、技能、信息，強(qiáng)調(diào)“實(shí)用性、專業(yè)性、知識(shí)性”，主要涉及了目前航海英語教學(xué)和專業(yè)教學(xué)相重合的知識(shí)點(diǎn)，篇幅適中，簡明扼要，具有準(zhǔn)確、實(shí)用、系統(tǒng)等特點(diǎn)。在專業(yè)性和知識(shí)性方面，本教材有較強(qiáng)的針對(duì)性和實(shí)用性。　　本教材具有以下兩個(gè)方面的特點(diǎn)：　　1.教材的編寫緊緊圍繞《STCW78／95公約》，以國家海事局頒發(fā)的《中華人民共和國海船船員適任考試、評(píng)估和發(fā)證規(guī)則》和交通部教育司頒發(fā)的《航海職業(yè)教育教學(xué)計(jì)劃和教學(xué)大綱》（高職教育）為依據(jù)。聽力練習(xí)大量使用與課文和評(píng)估相關(guān)的內(nèi)容，符合國家海事局輪機(jī)英語聽力與會(huì)話的評(píng)估要求，具有較強(qiáng)的針對(duì)性和實(shí)用性?！　?.教材主體部分根據(jù)國家海事局輪機(jī)英語聽力與會(huì)話評(píng)估指南所列的六大單元要求，作了精心設(shè)計(jì)和編排。因篇幅有限，本教材省略了許多寒喧用語，保留了純專業(yè)對(duì)話，但內(nèi)容還是較全，并有一定難度。為此，教材配有大量易于操作的練習(xí)，幫助復(fù)習(xí)、鞏固會(huì)話內(nèi)容，加深對(duì)課文的印象，具有較高的可操作性和實(shí)用價(jià)值。

The crew is still finishing the preparations. We will be readyfor bunkering in about fifteen minutes. We can start checking the bunkering procedurenow, though.　　B:Sure. I have my list here. Lets begin the deck inspection first. Have you secured themoorings？　　A:Yes,we have secured all moorings and weve confirmed that the fenders are in position.　　B:Good. Have the engineers put the main engine on standby？　　A:Yes, they have. The main engine is now on standby.　　B:Right. And has the pump man checked the Scuppers？　　A:No, not yet. He has just finished sounding the tank.　　B:OK, but we have to wait until he checks the scuppers. What about the fire hoses on board？　　A:Well, we have checked the hoses, but the pump man has not turned on the fire waterpumps. Wait for ten minutes, please.　　B:OK. Tell me as soon as he has checked the scuppers and turned on the fire water pumps.Then you can sign my checklist and we will be ready to start bunkering.　　A:Understood.　　B:Mr. chief, the bunkering has been finished. Will you sign the receipt？　　A:Please wait a minute. The third engineer hasnt worked out the final sounding figures yet.　　B:There cant be any shortage of the oil delivered, chief engineer.　　A:By the third engineers calculation, theres a shortage of 50 tons. That doesnt include thetemperature correction factor. If we take it into consideration, the shortage will beincreased. Will you start the pump again and deliver the oil till it agrees with the figures your recorded？　　B:Mr. chief, weve made no mistake. You see, we deliver oils to all kinds of ships every dayand have never made any shortage.　　A:If things are as you said, how can you explain the 50. tons shortage？　　B:All right. I think wed better sound the tank once more, and check the figures again.　　A:I agree. Ill ask our third engineer to go with you.　　B:Fine. （After sounding and checking.）　　A:How about the checking？ Is there anything wrong？
