隨著全球化和世界經(jīng)濟一體化進程的加快,英語在國際交往中的地位日益突顯,各類高等學(xué)校英語教學(xué)也面臨著新的機遇與挑戰(zhàn),高職高專作為培養(yǎng)實用技術(shù)性人才的搖籃,其英語教學(xué)理應(yīng)順應(yīng)社會發(fā)展步伐與時代要求,不斷探索創(chuàng)新。為此,在教育部頒發(fā)的關(guān)于《高職高專教育英語課程教學(xué)基本要求》(試行)的精神指導(dǎo)下結(jié)合高職高專英語教學(xué)的實際特點與需要,我們組織編寫了《實用英語閱讀教程》。 本教程是按照英語應(yīng)用能力和大學(xué)英語四級考試的要求進行編寫的。全書共8個單元,每個單元圍繞一個主題進行選材,力求貼近生活.以實用、有用為主線,所映社會熱點問題。文章具有一定新穎性和時代性。單元的基本內(nèi)容是: 1·主題導(dǎo)入:相關(guān)背景知識介紹,激發(fā)學(xué)生閱讀興趣。 2·課文部分:每單元有3篇相同或相近主題的文章,文章中設(shè)有頁邊問題(Margin questions)便于學(xué)生把握文章大意與閱讀節(jié)奏。 3·注釋部分:對文章中一些重點詞匯短語配有中英文解釋。 4·練習(xí)部分:每單元配針對課文的閱讀理解、詞匯、短語等基礎(chǔ)性練習(xí),同時設(shè)置了一些思考題,旨在幫助學(xué)生更好地掌握相關(guān)主題內(nèi)容,并內(nèi)化成自己的知識結(jié)構(gòu)。

Types of Credit Cards Travel and entertainment cards,such as AmericanExpress or Diners Club.They are usually not availableto students because they are used by businesses andconsumers for travel and entertainment expenses andhave an annual fee. Bank cards,such as MasterCard,VISA,Discoverand Optima.These credit cards are sponsored by individual banks and are considered all purpose cards sincethey can be used to pay for a variety of goods andservices.Each bank decides credit limits,annu~fees,terms and conditions. Company or retml store cards,such as Sears,J.C.Penney,Shell or Mobil.These cards ale used in the re-tail store or gas station and have no annual fee.They mayhave a higher interest rate than a bank card and the termsand conditions of these cards vary widely. The way you use credit will effect your credit his-tory and a negative credit history is a serious liability.Your credit history is maintained by credit bureaus inthe form of a credit report.This credit report is a record of your credit use.Your credit history will be re-viewed by employers,insurance companies,apartmentmanagers and businesses for consumer products,suchas cars or furniture,and your record follows youwherever you go.The credit reporting system works SOefficiently that creditors can obtain information on anyconsumer that uses credit within minutes.
