　?。╥）　　At this weeks Cebit IT fair： engineers are showing a new breed of screen that projects a 3D image towards the viewers eyes so glasses arent required. Glasses are used to select which of two images each eye sees： allowing the right eye to see one and the left eye the other using either color filters or shutters synchronized with the screen. In the new displays the separation is done by a panel consisting of tiny lenses that sits in front of the screen. Sunny Ocean Studios has developed a panel that can be fitted to a standard display： sending out a stereoscopic image to 64 positions around the screen. "This means you have a very large area to view： you can run around and see a nice 3D display：" said Armin Grasnick： managing director of the Singapore-based company. "Normally with the past screen you have only a few： just five or eight or nine angles： but now we have 64 and its very easy to catch a 3D　　effect."　?。?）　　"Google gave journalists a glimpse of its next generation machine translation system at a May 9th Google Factory Tour." Google Blogoscoped "offers an excellent overview of the presentation. The system has been trained using the United Nations Documents as a corpus. This corpus is some 20 billion words worth of content. It uses existing source and target language translations （done by human translators at the U.N.） to find patterns it then uses to build rules for translating between those languages. Apparently it was successful where the current version had failed in translating certain phrases. If anyone were capable of making a serious go of MT： that would have to be Google.
