前言

　　《21世紀高等醫(yī)學英語系列教材》問世已經(jīng)近10年了。隨著人類文明的不斷發(fā)展、人類社會對醫(yī)療需求標準的不斷提高，醫(yī)學和醫(yī)療技術的日新月異之變化有目共睹。修訂這部我國歷史上第一套兼顧醫(yī)學英語讀說聽寫諸方面技能提高的教材，勢在必行。　　修訂遵循兩條原則：　　第一是時代性。所謂時代性體現(xiàn)在理念、內(nèi)容和教學手段等諸方面。理念也就是修訂的主導思想和落腳點__整體醫(yī)療觀。因為整體醫(yī)療觀是世界各國對現(xiàn)代醫(yī)療的共同、客觀、科學、全面的認識。它強調(diào)人體與環(huán)境、社會、心理、情感等諸方面的和諧一致，是保證高水平生活質(zhì)量的必由之路，也自然是培養(yǎng)新時代合格醫(yī)生的新標準。為此，修訂版依據(jù)此原則對教材內(nèi)容進行重大改動，讀者使用教材后會有所體驗。時代性在教學手段上的表現(xiàn)是將原來《醫(yī)學英語聽與說》分冊改為《醫(yī)學英語視聽說》?？茖W技術的進步使現(xiàn)代化教學手段逐步成為可能。生動、具體、有趣的影視資料以教學的形式出現(xiàn)，不但可以提高學習效果，也增加了教材使用的途徑。它便于教學，也可用于自學。
