　　本書是圖里教授繼1980年出版著名的翻譯理論專著《翻譯理論探索》（In Search of a Theory of Translation）之后的又一力作。作者在本書中提出應(yīng)把描述翻譯學(xué)列入翻譯研究的分支學(xué)科，并認(rèn)為該分支學(xué)科具有理論和應(yīng)用并重的雙重屬性。本書對(duì)方法論探討的同時(shí)對(duì)不同類型的個(gè)案進(jìn)行了深入的剖析，強(qiáng)調(diào)了上下文語境在翻譯中的重要作用?！　』裟匪乖?971年提出把描述翻譯學(xué)作為翻譯研究的一個(gè)分支，但是并未引起翻譯界應(yīng)有的重視。有些翻譯研究者甚至故意貶低對(duì)具體翻譯實(shí)踐和翻譯成果所作的描述性研究。作者在本書中力主在翻譯學(xué)范圍內(nèi)建立基于方法論的翻譯學(xué)分支學(xué)科，對(duì)翻譯學(xué)作系統(tǒng)的描述，并探討了建立這一分支學(xué)科所涉及的重要問題。

作者簡(jiǎn)介

　　吉迪恩·圖里，以色列特拉維夫大學(xué)（Tel Aviv University）專門從事翻譯理論研究的教授，操縱學(xué)派的重要人物之一。主要著述有《翻譯理論探索》（In Search of a Theory of Translation）、《描述翻譯學(xué)及其他》（Descriptive Translation Studies and Beyond）兩書以及多篇論文。
