新編英語教程英語專業(yè)用

前言

　　《新編英語教程》第三、四冊與本教程第一、二冊同樣，自初版以來已逾十年。通過問卷和座談會調查，使用本教程的大多數(shù)師生認為《教程》重視語言基本功的訓練，也注重語言交際能力的培養(yǎng)，語言實用性較強，閱讀材料題材廣泛，內容豐富。但也還有待改進之處。例如個別課文的語言較陳舊，有關課文內容的背景知識和語言注釋、寫作知識和鞏固詞匯的練習等都有所欠缺。為此我們對本教程進行了相應的修訂。其修訂重點如下：　　一、個別課文作了必要的調整?！　《?、對課文的注釋，包括背景知識、難詞難句解釋、習慣用語等的用法和舉例等等，進行了較大幅度的補充?！　∪?、寫作部分增加了寫作知識的指導。　　四、每課都增加了漢譯英單句翻譯練習和完形填充練習等等，以鞏固詞匯的學習和運用?！　∥濉⒕毩晝缘母黜椌毩暸帕凶髁苏{整。除了與學生用書相對應的各種練習編排不變外，其他諸如拼寫、聽寫、聽力理解、翻譯、填充、句子改寫等練習現(xiàn)在歸在綜合練習項目下?！　∥覀兿Ｍ督坛獭返谌?、四冊修訂本能更好地為高校英語專業(yè)學生打好堅實的語言基礎服務。

內容概要

　　《新編英語教程》是供高等學校英語專業(yè)四年制本科生使用的綜合英語教材，能幫助學生練好堅實的語言基本功，使他們的英語綜合技能達到得心應手，運用自如的程度；使他們具有寬廣的社會科學和自然科學方面的知識；使他們能靈活地進行有效地進行有效的社會交際活動。　　本教材共分九級：　　預備級——為學生提供最基本的英語語音、語法和詞匯知識及其應用方法、是日后熟練掌握英語綜合技能的基石。本級教材有學生用書，練習冊，教師用書，錄音帶?！　〉?至4級——供基礎階段學生使用，每級都有學生用書，練習冊，教師用書，錄音帶。　　第5至8級——供高年級學生使用，每級都有學生用書，練習參考答案。

　　Text　　While I was waiting to enter university, I saw in a local newspaper a teaching post advertisedat a school in a suburb of London about ten miles from where I lived. Being very short of moneyand wanting to do something useful, I applied, fearing as I did so, that1 without a degree andwith no experience of teaching my chances of landing the job were slim2.　　However, three days later a letter arrived, summoning me to Croydon13 for an interview. Itproved an awkward journey: a train to Croydon station; a ten-minute bus ride4 and then a walk ofat least a quarter of a mile. As a result I arrived on a hot June morning too depressed to feel ner-vous.　　The school was a dreary, gabled Victorian house of red brick and with big staring sash-window5. The front garden was a gravel square; four evergreen shrubs stood at each corner,where they struggled to survive the dust and fumes from a busy main road.　　It was clearly the headmaster himself that opened the door. He was short and rotund. Hehad a sandy-coloured moustache, a freckled forehead and hardly any hair. He was wearing atweed suit one felt somehow he had always worn it and across his ample stomach was loopeda silver watch-chain.
