本書由10個(gè)unit組成：1、方向 2、描述 3、方位 4、住所 5、旅行（1） 6、放行（2） 7、公告 8、交通 9、工作 10、新聞。每個(gè)UNIT含幾個(gè)SECTIONS，每個(gè)SECTION由幾個(gè)PARTS組成，其內(nèi)容都和人們的日常生活、學(xué)習(xí)和工作息息相關(guān)，特別是對(duì)那些即將走出國門的人來說，這些內(nèi)容給他們提供了必不可少的語言和背景知識(shí)。在選材上注重AUTHENTIC ENGLISH，目的在于使讀者不但能聽懂播音員照本宣讀式的正式英語，同時(shí)也為他們提供大量的真實(shí)性英語，使他們對(duì)異國他鄉(xiāng)的英語不會(huì)感到陌生。
