前言

　　“愛在此，樂在此”，是香港旅游發(fā)展局為“精彩香港旅游年”設(shè)計(jì)的口號。說起香港，很多人的心目中會(huì)首先想到的是高聳入云的中銀大廈、碧波蕩漾的維多利亞港、光怪陸離的夜中環(huán)和歌舞升平的蘭桂坊，還有一些人會(huì)想到熙熙攘攘的人群、步伐匆匆的行人、禮貌而又高效的警官和日夜忙碌卻又井然有序的街道。但是對于我而言，香港永遠(yuǎn)意味著溫暖和感動(dòng)、激情和奮斗。太平山下的這座充滿活力的國際化大都市，無疑是我生命中最重要的驛站之一，在我的記憶中留下了永遠(yuǎn)不可磨滅的痕跡。在這里，我有幸獲得了一筆金額不菲的獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，進(jìn)入到亞太地區(qū)最著名的學(xué)府之一繼續(xù)深造，衣食無憂、心平氣和地研究自己從小就喜歡的課題，在科研和生活的點(diǎn)點(diǎn)滴滴中親身體會(huì)六百萬香港人最引以為豪的“香港效率”和“香港品質(zhì)”。也正是在這里，我終于完成了《劍橋雅思寫作高分范文》以及《劍橋雅思詞匯掌中寶》這幾本雅思輔導(dǎo)書的全部書稿。盡管這幾本書的創(chuàng)作過程似乎遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)沒有達(dá)到“香港效率”，但是我自信，這兩套書的質(zhì)量絕對可以和“香港品質(zhì)”媲美?！　∵@兩套書的歷史要追溯到上個(gè)世紀(jì)末。當(dāng)時(shí)我還在哈爾濱的一所工科院校的英語系讀書。四周濃郁的理工氛圍讓當(dāng)時(shí)躊躇滿志、視學(xué)好英語為人生最高目標(biāo)的我倍感壓抑和絕望，甚至開始懷疑自己選擇英語作為專業(yè)是不是一個(gè)美麗的錯(cuò)誤。我喜歡學(xué)英語，也擅長學(xué)英語，這是我很小的時(shí)候就明白的事實(shí)；不該來到這里學(xué)英語，或者確切地說，來到這里就不該學(xué)英語，也是我不得不接受的事實(shí)。書本里，哲人說生活會(huì)因?yàn)橐恍┩蝗缙鋪淼年幉铌栧e(cuò)而變得幸福；現(xiàn)實(shí)中，我的生活卻因?yàn)檫@樣而變得痛苦。不過我很快在絕望中找到了希望。在陰差陽錯(cuò)地參加了一次當(dāng)時(shí)報(bào)名費(fèi)不低的雅思考試后，憑借著相當(dāng)不錯(cuò)的考試成績，我意外地在一家著名的雅思培訓(xùn)機(jī)構(gòu)中覓得了一個(gè)兼職的機(jī)會(huì)，在18歲生日的前幾天登上了雅恩的講臺，在“暗無天日”的歲月里為自己打開了一扇通往自信和幸福的大門。我的教學(xué)從一開始就大獲成功，學(xué)生和校方的反饋都極好，教授的科目也從最初的雅思閱讀一直擴(kuò)展到雅思考試的各個(gè)板塊。事實(shí)證明，我在語言學(xué)習(xí)和語言使用方面的確是有過人的天賦的。在我人生的那個(gè)階段，意識到這一點(diǎn)所帶來的快感，遠(yuǎn)勝過手里揣著對于一個(gè)大學(xué)生而言幾近天文數(shù)字的工資所帶來的興奮。于是，我無條件地愛上了教英語，瘋狂地逃掉了大學(xué)里所有我覺得沒有意義的課，義無返顧地投入到教學(xué)中，沉溺于其中，完全不能自拔。

作者簡介

劉巍巍，香港理工大學(xué)英文系博士，新東方教育科技集團(tuán)資深教師。2005年、2006年、2007年“新東方教育科技集團(tuán)優(yōu)秀教師獎(jiǎng)”得主。
    20歲登上新東方講臺，曾被學(xué)生曾被學(xué)員稱為“神童”教師，迄今面授過近十萬學(xué)子。英文功底深厚，授課風(fēng)格冷靜、理智，以理性和實(shí)效著稱。
