前言
21世紀(jì)的中國將成為世界旅游經(jīng)濟(jì)強(qiáng)國。2009年11月,國務(wù)院出臺《關(guān)于加快發(fā)展旅游業(yè)的意見》,提出把旅游業(yè)培育成我國戰(zhàn)略性支柱產(chǎn)業(yè),積極發(fā)展入境旅游,有序發(fā)展出境旅游;加強(qiáng)旅游從業(yè)人員素質(zhì)建設(shè),加強(qiáng)旅游從業(yè)人員培訓(xùn)。2009年12月,國務(wù)院作出了《關(guān)于推進(jìn)海南國際旅游島建設(shè)發(fā)展的若干意見》的重大戰(zhàn)略決策,要把海南打造成世界一流的海島休閑旅游度假目的地。這意味著機(jī)場、酒店、旅游景點(diǎn)、旅行社及各旅游服務(wù)、管理機(jī)構(gòu),需要大量的實(shí)用型旅游外語人才。而旅游英語是培育旅游外語人才的必要條件,一本實(shí)用性和針對性強(qiáng)的旅游英語教材,對于旅游外語人才的培養(yǎng)至關(guān)重要。作者自2005年開始,對20世紀(jì)90年代以來的國內(nèi)旅游英語教材進(jìn)行整理、讀閱、分析、歸納、總結(jié)。此外,從2007年開始,走訪海南各旅游社、酒店、景區(qū)景點(diǎn)等旅游服務(wù)機(jī)構(gòu),展開為期三年的旅游市場調(diào)研,并通過對旅游行政官員、導(dǎo)游等旅游服務(wù)人員的訪談,多方面了解社會對旅游外語人才的需求。從中外幾十種書刊以及生活中選取素材,五年后完成了這本實(shí)用性、針對性和趣味性強(qiáng)的旅游英語教材的編寫,這是一套富有生命力的教材。本教材由旅游手續(xù)、旅游種類、旅游勝地、旅游要素、旅游法制五章組成,共19個單元,每個單元分為六個部分,即Warm up、Vocabularies、Conversation、Pas-sage、Integrated Exercises of Skills Development、Self Study。本教材的培養(yǎng)目標(biāo):1.培養(yǎng)學(xué)生在旅游環(huán)境下實(shí)際使用英語進(jìn)行涉外交際的能力。課文中warm up、Vocabularies、Conversation三個部分的內(nèi)容與年輕人生活、思想、旅游大環(huán)境緊密相關(guān),詞匯豐富,題材廣泛、話題有趣,有助于他們產(chǎn)生用英語進(jìn)行口頭交際、表達(dá)思想的強(qiáng)烈欲望。2.培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的閱讀和翻譯的能力,擴(kuò)大旅游管理專業(yè)知識面。課文中Passage、Integrated Exercises of Skills Development兩個部分,課文與習(xí)題相互依托,內(nèi)容由淺至深,難易適度,精心設(shè)計,既滿足不同英語基礎(chǔ)學(xué)生的需求,也是對他們英語學(xué)習(xí)效果和旅游專業(yè)知識掌握程度的一種檢驗。
內(nèi)容概要
本教材分為五章,共19個單元。第一章旅游手續(xù),內(nèi)容涉及辦理護(hù)照和辦理簽證兩個單元;第二章旅游種類,包括歷史人文游、自然奇觀游和紅色旅游三個單元;第三章旅游勝地,包括東北地區(qū)、華北地區(qū)、華東地區(qū)、華中地區(qū)、西北地區(qū)、西南地區(qū)、華南地區(qū)及港澳臺七個單元;第四章旅游要素,包括吃一餐飲服務(wù)、住一賓館服務(wù)、行一交通服務(wù)、游一旅游服務(wù)、娛一娛樂服務(wù)、購一購物服務(wù)六個單元;第五章旅游法制,內(nèi)容涉及中外旅游法制一個單元。 每個單元分為六個部分,即Warm up、Vocabularies、Convezsattion、Passage、Integrated Exercises of Skills Development、Self study。為便于高等院校教師的授課和學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)以及酒店、機(jī)場、景區(qū)景點(diǎn)、旅行社、外事機(jī)構(gòu)、公司、教育和旅游局等部門相關(guān)人員使用本書,在Passage模塊上加注譯文,并在Integrated Exerclses of Skills Development模塊上加注了習(xí)題答案。
作者簡介
楊紅,語言學(xué)與經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)雙專業(yè)碩士,就職于海南大學(xué)旅游學(xué)院。主要研究方向為應(yīng)用語言學(xué)、旅游經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、旅游人類學(xué)。
現(xiàn)為國際人類學(xué)與民族學(xué)聯(lián)合會會員、加拿大研究會會員。2007年獲得加拿大專項研究特別獎,2008年受到加拿大駐華大使館的表彰,并得到海南省教育廳、海南省外事僑務(wù)辦表揚(yáng)及海南大學(xué)多次報道。任職期間,多次榮獲海南大學(xué)旅游學(xué)院的教學(xué)先進(jìn)表彰。
主要學(xué)術(shù)成就包括:出版著作及發(fā)表論文共計35本(篇),完成6個基金課題。其中,發(fā)表CSSCI核心期刊論文6篇。

The Summer Palace is located in Beijing' s northwestsuburb, and it consists, in the main, the Longevity Hill and the Kunming Lake.Wade Vinson: Could you tell me who wrote the name of the Summer Palace?Jack Smith: The name of the Summer Palace, Yiheyuan Park (Park of Nurtured Harmo-ny) is inscribed in gold in this nameboard in the handwriting of Emperor Guangxu of theQing dynasty.Wade Vinson.That's great. I think that is a good name. Do you know EmperorQianlong?Jack Smith:Of course, I know him a lot. In the winter of 1749, or the 14th year ofthe Qianlong reign of the Qing dynasty, Emperor Qianlong gave the place a major face-lift in preparation for his mother's 60th birthday. The Kunming Lake was dredged on alarge scale.Wade Vinson: I have read a book about the history of the Qing dynasty, and I knowthe major remains expended a large sum of money and consumed great manpower andmaterial resources.Jack Smith:Yes.
