從1845年7月4日到1847年9月6日，梭羅獨(dú)自生活在瓦爾登湖邊，差不多正好兩年零兩個(gè)月。瓦爾登湖不僅為梭羅提供了一個(gè)棲身之所，也為他提供了一種獨(dú)特的精神氛圍。    1846年2月，梭羅按計(jì)劃前去康科德城講課。梭羅準(zhǔn)備了一個(gè)“我自己的歷史”（The History of Myself）的課題。沒(méi)想到講座受到觀眾的熱烈歡迎。在這次講座的啟發(fā)下，梭羅將自己的講課提綱加以整理，又經(jīng)過(guò)了很長(zhǎng)一段時(shí)間的寫作，終于完成了Walden，or Life in Woods（《瓦爾登湖，又名林中生活散記》）這部傳世的名著?！锻郀柕呛烦霭嬗?854年，這是19世紀(jì)美國(guó)文學(xué)非小說(shuō)著作中最受讀者歡迎的書籍。目前，此書已出現(xiàn)了兩百多個(gè)版本，并被譯成許多種文字。

"No, we do not want any,"was the reply. "What！" exclaimed the Indian as he went out thegate, "do you mean to starve us？" Having seen his industriouswhite neighbors so well off  that the lawyer had only to weavearguments, and, by some magic, wealth and standing followed,he had said to himself: I will go into business; I will weavebaskets; it is a thing which I can do. Thinking that when hehad made the baskets he would have done his part, and then itwould be the white man's to buy them. He had not discoveredthat it was necessary for him to make it worth the other's whileto buy them, or at least make him think that it was so, or tomake something else which it would be worth his while to buy.I too had woven a kind of basket of a delicate texture, but I hadnot made it worth any one's while to buy them. Yet not theless, in my case, did I think it worth my while to weave them,and instead of studying how to make it worth men's while tobuy my baskets, I studied rather how to avoid the necessity ofselling them. The life which men praise and regard as successfulis but one kind. Why should we exaggerate any one kind at theexpense of the others？

全英文，很不錯(cuò)啊~紙質(zhì)手感都不錯(cuò)，印刷清晰。內(nèi)容看不大懂啦~但很美，要細(xì)讀~
這是一本值得用一生去品味的書在某一個(gè)晴朗的午后你可以泡一杯茶，有沐浴著溫暖的陽(yáng)光和溫暖的和風(fēng)來(lái)仔細(xì)的品讀這本書
經(jīng)典需要慢慢品讀。

這本書裝幀普通，絲毫也不華麗，但拿在手里感覺(jué)不錯(cuò)，紙張不滑，略顯粗糙，顏色也暗，但印刷還好，但總體很輕便，如題，很樸素的一本書，不過(guò)倒是契合了梭羅自己的觀點(diǎn)呢~這本書的內(nèi)容自然不用說(shuō)，很美麗……所以——喜歡（*@ο@*）～
還好了，書的質(zhì)量摸著還算舒服，以這個(gè)價(jià)格來(lái)說(shuō)還算不錯(cuò)~字體很大看著感覺(jué)很輕松，當(dāng)然了，選擇Walden選的是它的內(nèi)容，外包裝過(guò)的去就成~
雖然英文不夠好，但對(duì)照中文譯文經(jīng)典，還是感覺(jué)語(yǔ)言清麗條理清晰，不時(shí)閃爍著智慧的光芒，喜歡這樣慢慢讀書，慢慢感受的好心情！書籍封面樸素，包裝簡(jiǎn)單，卻是本可以時(shí)時(shí)拿在手邊翻閱的好書。而且，價(jià)格相宜！
紙張還可以，但唯一的缺點(diǎn)是字有點(diǎn)小，看著眼痛。這好像是所有英文原著的通病。
不錯(cuò)的床頭書，也很適合朗讀，對(duì)英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)和英文修養(yǎng)的提高都很有幫助。

同系列的書里面，并不是所有書都是輕質(zhì)紙的。瓦爾登湖、傲慢與偏見、EMMA都是微黃的紙張，書很輕，印刷也很好。其他很多都是白色紙張，書本較重的。但都是正版
印刷的很清晰，字也比較大，讀起來(lái)很舒服
字小，排版非常有問(wèn)題，就是兩頁(yè)之間的字隔得好近，書要用力地掰開才可以看得見字。。真難受。。紙也不好。建議不要買這個(gè)版本的。
收到封面有褶皺，此書本身裝幀不好
貌似買之前看到有的人評(píng)論說(shuō)字體太小，還有什么什么的缺點(diǎn)，感覺(jué)像買到了盜版，我買到的卻很好啊，印刷精美，圖文清晰，絕對(duì)正版^o^而且快遞師傅也挺熱情的啊，再贊一個(gè)^o^支持卓越！
從來(lái)沒(méi)在卓越買過(guò)這么差的書，乍看沒(méi)什么問(wèn)題，仔細(xì)看其中的紙張，印刷很有問(wèn)題，有些紙張上的字印到了另一頁(yè)紙上，導(dǎo)致看不清該頁(yè)的字，請(qǐng)甚買！
物超所值~在網(wǎng)上看到這本書的內(nèi)容是由原版再編輯的，所以沒(méi)有那么厚重，但是質(zhì)量不錯(cuò)。里面的單詞也不是那種晦澀難懂的生僻字。值得一讀
買了四本書，這一本最便宜卻是我最喜歡的，十分別致。。。
