自學英語·大眾版（第四冊）

內容概要

1992年應社會科學文獻出版社和中央電視臺社教部的邀請，編寫出版了《電視英語》，在全國播放了三年(兩輪)。數(shù)以百計的英語學習者借助這套書熟練地掌握了英語這一現(xiàn)代生活必備的語言工具，給自己的升學和就業(yè)插上了翅膀。近十個年頭過去了，一批又一批的英語學習者對這套書的鐘愛并未減退。而在這十年中，國內英語學習及教材等方面有了許多新的變化，日益加快甚至趕上世界英語學習的步伐。我雖離開英語教學第一線但仍關心國內的英語教學。這些年來經(jīng)常來往于美國和深圳兩地，繼續(xù)從事英語方面的研究，積累了大批最新資料和研究心得。正因如此，當社會科學文獻出版社決定在原《電視英語》基礎上編寫面向廣大英語自學者的教材時，我欣然接受并編寫了這套定名為《自學英語》的教材。這套教材循序漸進，按不同學習水平和深度分為四冊?！　〉谝粌裕喊?200多詞匯和最基本的語法，學完后可以打好語言的初步基礎。　　第二冊：也包含1200多詞匯和主要的語法項目，學完后可以看多種簡寫讀物。此時英語已接近中學畢業(yè)水平。　　第三冊：也包含1200多新詞，主要語法項目都已學到，學完可以看淺易原著，相當于大學公共英語一年級水平。　　第四冊：積累詞匯約為5000，加上讀物中出現(xiàn)的詞，可能有6000詞匯，接近公共英語二年級水平，能看多種知識性閱讀材料，經(jīng)過一段熟悉過程，可以看所學專業(yè)材料?！　∵@套書有下面主要特點：　　1．課文短小精悍：一般一二十行，生詞約為十一二個。文字盡量口語化。要盡量做到大部分都能背下來。只有把課文背熟，生詞才能記住，語法也才能鞏固。要反復背，定期復習，課文背得愈熟，基礎打得愈好。　　2．內容反映現(xiàn)代生活，包括常用的現(xiàn)代詞匯，學了就能用，所學詞匯可表述現(xiàn)代生活的方方面面，強調語言材料的實用性?！　?．注意口語練習：每課除有對話練習、句型練習、問答等之外，還有附錄中的口語練習。練習除了起復習鞏固的作用外，還可打好初步口語基礎，必要時可干一些初級的口語工作?！　?．配有錄音資料，便利學員自學，同時保證發(fā)展正確的語音、語調，為發(fā)展全面的語言能力打好基礎。錄音要反復地跟，務使自己有正確的語音語調?！　?．每課有詳細的輔導材料，包括課文譯文，課文注釋，語法講解，語音說明，練習答案，以利自學?！　?．有豐富的附錄，主要包括練習及復習材料，各類讀物(包括兒歌，小詩，故事等)來發(fā)展閱讀能力，并鞏固所學內容。本書可說是精泛并舉。　　這套教材是為英語自學者設計的，對職稱考試、就業(yè)應聘及其他英語學習者也有很強的普適性、針對性，同時對在校大中小學生及教師的英語學習或教學也具有參考價值。至于學習這套書要用多少時間可以因人而異。如果是中學畢業(yè)生、在家待業(yè)，時間比較充裕，一年學完四本也是可能的。(學完四本后考大學，英文可望獲得高分，如考英語專業(yè)，口語也可能通過。)如中學英語沒基礎，這四本書可細水長流地學，學三四年也可以。問題是真正學透，若按要求學，學完后可申請干與英語有關的工作?！　〕酥猓€歡迎各地培訓班利用此書作教材，想必能取得良好的效果。大學公英教師也歡迎你們利用部分材料來充實教學，特別是在語言實驗室中使用，可能對發(fā)展學生的語言能力有一些積極作用。

作者簡介

張道真 1947年畢業(yè)于南京大學（即中央大學）外語系。1948年春赴美留學，先就讀于華盛頓大學英國文學系，1949年轉往哈佛大學讀比較文學。1950年響應周總理號召回國參加建設，在北京外國語學院任教至1996年退休。后應邀赴深圳大學任校長顧問。1990年赴美，在美國定居，潛心
