閱讀是一種重要的學(xué)習(xí)技能。大量的閱讀可以有效促進(jìn)英語(yǔ)聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、 讀、寫(xiě)能力的全面發(fā)展，是學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的主要途徑。大量的閱讀對(duì)提高閱讀速度、增加詞匯量、擴(kuò)大知識(shí)面也起著重要作用。		    當(dāng)前英語(yǔ)教學(xué)改革的目標(biāo)主要是提高學(xué)生對(duì)語(yǔ)言的實(shí)際運(yùn)用能力。但由于我國(guó)目前英語(yǔ)教學(xué)中缺少語(yǔ)言實(shí)際環(huán)境，學(xué)生聽(tīng)、說(shuō)能力的發(fā)愛(ài)到一定的限制，所以閱讀顯得尤為重要，它為學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)提供了良好的語(yǔ)言實(shí)踐和獲得語(yǔ)感的條件。    首先，閱讀可以提高學(xué)習(xí)興趣。在英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)中語(yǔ)法是較為枯燥難懂的，而結(jié)合課外閱讀中的一些生動(dòng)活潑、妙趣橫生的小故事，可以引發(fā)學(xué)生的想象力，在閱讀中產(chǎn)生濃厚的學(xué)習(xí)興趣，使學(xué)生在輕松愉快的閱讀過(guò)程中增強(qiáng)語(yǔ)感，擴(kuò)大詞匯量，掌握句型變化，進(jìn)一步加強(qiáng)對(duì)語(yǔ)法知識(shí)的學(xué)習(xí)。    其次，通過(guò)大量的閱讀，不僅可以擴(kuò)大知識(shí)面、開(kāi)闊視野，而且使學(xué)生提高閱讀速度，在循序漸旱中增咈?qū)ξ恼碌睦斫饬?，提高獲取信息的準(zhǔn)確度。    為了全面提高廣大中學(xué)生的閱讀能力和學(xué)習(xí)興趣，我們組織了教學(xué)第一線在興趣的培養(yǎng)和能力的提高，初三版重在解題能力和英語(yǔ)綜合素質(zhì)的提高。并配有大量精選的中考試題。

""Pardon？"said the salesman.　　"My brother Andrew has something bad growing inside his head and my daddy says only a mir-acle can save him. So how much does a miracle cost？ We don t sell a miracle here， child. I msorry，" the salesman said with a smile.　　"Listen， if it isn t enough， I can try and get some more. Just tell me how much it costs. "　　A well-dressed man heard it and asked， "What kind of miracle does your brother need？ Idon t know， "she answered with her eyes full of tears. "He s really sick and mum says he needsan operation. But my daddy cant pay for it， so I have brought all my money. "　　"How much do you have？" asked the man. " $ 1.11， but I can try and get some more，"sheanswered.　　"Well， what a luck， "smiled the man. " $ 1.11， the price of a miracle for little brother. "　　He took up the girl s hand and said， "Take me to where you live. I want to see your brotherand meet your parents. Let s see if I have the kind of miracle you need. "　　That well-dressed man was Dr. Carlton Armstong， a famous doctor. The operation was suc-cessful and it wash t long before Andrew was home again.
