　　當然，經(jīng)理在保持員工努力工作中起了舉足輕重的作用。一方面，店內(nèi)的計算機化現(xiàn)金出納機使經(jīng)理能密切地監(jiān)視職員的工作。數(shù)字可以清楚地告之誰在規(guī)定的時間內(nèi)完成了最多的銷售額，誰盡力說服顧客購買了特別的食品。另一方面，經(jīng)理總是在柜臺后面或是在門店內(nèi)走來走去。在高峰時間，經(jīng)理會和員工一起工作，并對員工給予指示。若是哪一名員工出現(xiàn)了工作上的懈怠，東西就很容易被弄臟，特別是潔具，經(jīng)理們總是不斷地努力按照他們的名言去要求員工，“如果有時間去打掃，那么就去打掃干凈”。　　有顧客在現(xiàn)場是促使員工努力工作的另一大主要因素。麥當勞公司經(jīng)常有意安排員工工作的場所暴露于等候服務的顧客面前，這樣員工可以看見等候的顧客。當排著長隊的人們等待服務的時候，員工們不得不盡可能迅速地工作。那種急切的眼神給員工們施加了很大的壓力，這使他們保持忙碌的工作狀態(tài)。一個員工承認，我特別害怕遇到?jīng)]耐心和好挑刺的顧客。事實上，即使顧客沒有任何牢騷，我也會在他們無形的壓力之下努力工作?！　∪欢?，這些壓力并不是員工們充滿熱情地努力工作的唯一原因。經(jīng)理也設法激勵他們采取主動積極的態(tài)度去工作。經(jīng)理的經(jīng)常出現(xiàn)意味著好的工作表現(xiàn)是會被注意到的。經(jīng)理的稱贊是對員工表現(xiàn)的最好認同。還有各式各樣的激勵措施確保員工們的辛勤工作能獲得即得的利益，如免費的麥當勞套餐而不是通常的半價餐，最新上映的免費電影票都是給優(yōu)秀員工的獎勵。最高銷售量的競賽或是在一定時間內(nèi)比誰銷售的最多，都是鼓勵員工之間比賽速度和進取心方法。每個季度，崗位的表現(xiàn)清單會如實反映員工的工作成績，在這段時間內(nèi)，對認真負責的員工將會給予增加工資以及授予麥當勞光榮勛章，晉升為員工教練員、領班或大堂經(jīng)理也可以刺激一些員工盡可能努力工作?！　　?/pre>
