新概念大學(xué)英語泛讀教程

前言

　　弗朗西斯·培根曾在他那著名的《論讀書》一文中指出：讀書使人充實(shí)（reading makes a full man），中國(guó)也有二句古諺：一為：“書讀百遍，其義自現(xiàn)”。二為：“熟讀唐詩(shī)三百首，不會(huì)作詩(shī)也會(huì)吟。”培根強(qiáng)調(diào)的是“讀書”（閱讀）與人生，而后二者強(qiáng)調(diào)的是“閱讀”與“理解”、與“寫作”（創(chuàng)作）的關(guān)系。不論怎樣三者都突出強(qiáng)調(diào)了“讀書”（閱讀）的功用。“讀書”就其本質(zhì)而論就是“閱讀”，而“閱讀”又可分為“精讀”（intensive reading）、“泛讀”（extensive reading）、“跳讀”（skipping）、“掃讀”（scanning）和“快速閱讀”（fast reading）以及“朗讀”（reciting），也就是培根先生所說的some books are to be tasted，Others to be swallowed，and some few to be chewed and digested?！　W(xué)習(xí)一門外語，既需要“精讀”也需要“泛讀”，在某種意義上講，“泛讀”的多少?zèng)Q定了外語學(xué)習(xí)的成敗高低。顧名思義，“泛讀”就是泛泛而讀，它的目標(biāo)是通過大量的閱讀，拓寬視野，擴(kuò)大知識(shí)面，增加詞匯量，從而增強(qiáng)語感——而語感是學(xué)習(xí)外語最最重要的一個(gè)因素。

內(nèi)容概要

本套教程取名為新概念，主要反映在以下幾個(gè)編寫特點(diǎn)：    閱讀材料豐富多樣，題材廣泛，體裁多樣，內(nèi)容新穎，注重知識(shí)性、趣味性與實(shí)用性；　　突破傳統(tǒng)教材課文篇幅太短的局限，閱讀量明顯加大；　　注重培養(yǎng)學(xué)生快速、準(zhǔn)確、有效地獲取信息的能力；　　增加了有關(guān)中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)節(jié)假日方面知識(shí)的閱讀與攝取，以增強(qiáng)學(xué)生跨文化交際的能力；　　為增強(qiáng)實(shí)用性，本教程有目的地收錄了一些實(shí)用類體裁的閱讀材料：如廣告、信函、合同、協(xié)議、招標(biāo)書以及招聘啟事等，以便學(xué)生通過閱讀和初步接觸能了解此類文章的格式及其用詞。　　《新概念大學(xué)英語泛讀教程》一套四冊(cè)。每?jī)?cè)有15個(gè)單元，每個(gè)單元由三部分組成：閱讀課文和練習(xí)、快速閱讀和練習(xí)、課外閱讀和練習(xí)。此外，為方便閱讀，我們?cè)陂喿x課文和課外閱讀后面增加了部分必需的注釋。每?jī)?cè)書后都配有練習(xí)參考答案，以便利教師和學(xué)生的教與學(xué)。

　　In the early days of the Internet， each new page was a cause for celebration. The early pioneers watched in excitement as the network grew， and they wanted to keep people informed about this growth. Now， home pages are so yesterday. You were cool 10 years ago if you had a home page. Today blogs are where its at.　　Meg Hourihan was in a bad mood. She had nothing major to worry about， but she was afflicted by the triple malaise of a woman in her late twenties. （a） the weather was Iousy； （b） she was working too hard； and （c） she didnt have a boyfriend. Nothing， not even eating， seemed very interesting to her. The only thing that did sound appealing was moving to France and finding a new French boyfriend， but even when she talked about that idea she struck a sardonic， yeah-right-like-Im-really-going-to-do-that kind of tone.　　I know this about Meg because I read it a few months ago on her personal website， which is called Megnut. com. rve been reading Meg for a while now， and so I know all kinds of things about its author， like how much she loved Hilary Swank in Boys Dont Cry， and how she wishes there were good fish tacos to be had in San Francisco， where she lives. I know shes a feminist， and that she writes short stories， and that shes close to her mom.
