內容簡介
本書是為計算機與通信專業(yè)學生而編寫的，全書
共分20個單元。在內容安排上力求從基礎到專業(yè)，
從硬件到軟件，從基本知識到新技術、新知識。本書
主要取材于90年代以后國外的30余種最新材料。內
容廣泛，語言現象豐富。內容涉及基本邏輯元件，數
字計算機，CISC及RISC中央處理單元，存儲器的層
次結構，輸入與輸出接口，操作系統(tǒng)，程序設計，數
據庫，并行處理，數據的完整性與安全性，計算機網
的結構與協議，多媒體，人工智能，圖像處理，寬帶
通信，ISDN及B－ISDN，ATM，衛(wèi)星通信，光纖通信，
移動通信及SDH等。所選內容既有基礎理論，又盡
量跟蹤最近兩三年內公眾關心的熱點與新技術。教材
內容基本能覆蓋計算機、通信這兩個專業(yè)常用的技術
詞匯、詞組及常見的科技語法。
教材的編寫對于所選專題除正文外，還列出了較
多的關鍵字、注釋、習題及部分參考譯文。對于某些
較難的語法現象，除給出相應的參考譯文外還對語法
現象予以分析。在本書的最后還附有習題解答及生詞
的速查表，以供讀者快速查閱。
本書可作為計算機與通信兩個專業(yè)學生的英語教
材，也可供其他工程專業(yè)作為專業(yè)英語教材或參考
書，還可作為從事計算機、通信、信息等工作的技術
人員的自學教材或參考書。
