作者簡介

Michael McCarthy 英國諾丁漢大學應用語言學榮休教授，致力于英語口語分析研究，對劍橋國際語料庫的開發(fā)做出了巨大貢獻。目前任美國賓夕法尼亞大學和愛爾蘭利默里克大學應用語言學兼職教授。McCarthy教授是當代英語教學界的大師，在詞匯教學、教材設計、字典編纂以及口語研究等領(lǐng)域都頗有建樹。他的多部外語教學專著頗受教師青睞，其中包括 Spoken Language and Applied Linguistics，以及他與人合著的Vocabulary in Use系列。
　　Jeanne McCarten 有多國英語教學經(jīng)驗，曾在英國、瑞典、法國、馬來西亞等國任教；具有多年的英語教材出版經(jīng)驗，專注于語法和詞匯教材出版領(lǐng)域。她對劍橋國際語料庫英語口語部分的開發(fā)有卓越貢獻。
　　Helen Sandiford 有豐富而廣泛的工作經(jīng)驗，曾任英語教師、教師培訓師以及營銷專員。在日本高中和?？圃盒氖掠⒄Z教學工作達九年之久，曾在東亞各國多次主持英語教師培訓班。

　　1．Gripes from a househusballd　　A Read the blog．What kind of blog is it? academic news persollaI t1．Avel Posted by Morio at 3：s7 p．m．　　I’m exhausted！My kids are so lazy。I can’t get Joanna，Nanc~and Michael to help me around the house，no matter how much I nag them．Their clothes，shoes，and schoolbooks are all over the place．Tonight，their cousins are coming for dinner．My brother and sister-in-law are bringing their five kids over here so they can go out for their anniversary．Can you imagine?Eight kids in the house！In addition，my aunt wants to come over so she can see all her great-nieces and great-nephews．And she always asks me to make her favorite dessert-Mardi Gras cake-that takes at Ieast two hours to prepare．To top it all off，tonight is my wife’s tennis club party，so I have to　　dO all the cooking and cleaning by myself．　　It seems to me that my wife could stay home and help out-just this once．She’s always going to some activity．Sometimes its a co-workers birthday，sometimes its her book club．a(chǎn)nd other times its her gym class．I guess I don’t mind．because I’m a homebody，but she used to help cook and clean more．　　She would do the grocery shopping，and then shed get the kids to pitch in and clean Lip while she started dinner for us．　　Lately，she’s been too busy．And tonight，the living room is a mess，and dirty dishes are piled up in the sink．If you ask me，its too much for one person to do．I know，…I’II call my stepbrother and have him help．I’II ask my mother to make the cake at her house while I go grocery shopping．And maybe my aunt will help with the cooking．After all，its all in the family，right?
