致用英語綜合教程

前言

　　《致用英語綜合教程》（共四冊）是一套新生代英語專業(yè)教材，殫力于語言的學能培養(yǎng)，供攻讀英語專業(yè)的一、二年級大學本科生以及具有相應水平的英語學習者使用，特別薦引于應用型英語專業(yè)的教學?！　≡谖覈挠⒄Z教學改革中，教材的創(chuàng)新本來就顯得有些滯后。近幾年，英語專業(yè)的教學創(chuàng)新與教材編寫無論在理論與實踐的探討上、在教學界的關注度上、在學術的活躍度上，以及在教材的更新頻度上，又都不夠活躍。現(xiàn)有的英語專業(yè)教材存在的主要問題是：有些失之于“經院式”，偏重于文學作品或20世紀以前經典作家的作品，與現(xiàn)實生活中真實的、鮮活的語境以及學生未來職場的實際需求相去甚遠，致使學生的“書本知識”同“實際技能”不相匹配；有些則失之于凸顯教師的“學術權威性”，而忽視了學生的感受，把他們置于完全被動接受的地位，表現(xiàn)為信息量過大、知識點過繁、練習量過多，形成了“滿書灌”的問題，使學生眼花繚亂，疲于應付。單元內容大大超過規(guī)定學時的負荷，在教學實踐中很容易引發(fā)“滿堂灌”的弊端。針對這些問題，我們對英語專業(yè)的教學現(xiàn)狀進行了大量調研，對國內外同類教材進行了對比、分析、思辨，認為對英語專業(yè)教材進行積極的探索與改革勢在必行，于是向社會奉獻出此套教科書。

　　Brad： I was very lucky. When I finished high school， I went to a community college and studied Radio and Television Arts for three years. I was able to get two summer jobs that were in broadcasting： one in radio and one in television， although these were behind the scenes and I wanted to be on the air.
