本書原版由Macmillan出版公司出版，現(xiàn)由作者授權(quán)四川大學(xué)出版社出版。作者PetetG.Beidler是美國Lehigh大學(xué)資深寫作課教授、中世紀(jì)文學(xué)及美國印第安文化研究專家，其“Why I Teach”一文為中國大學(xué)生所熟悉。本書26章，每章自成體系，重點(diǎn)突出，內(nèi)容具體，例證翔實(shí)；語言淺顯活潑，插圖生動(dòng)詼諧。該書通過對大量大學(xué)生習(xí)作的分析、講評及修改，總結(jié)出寫作過程中應(yīng)避免的40個(gè)最易犯的錯(cuò)誤。作者曾以富豐賴特學(xué)者身份在中國講學(xué)多年，熟知中國學(xué)生實(shí)情，此版由作者為中國讀者量身修訂，因此具有極強(qiáng)的實(shí)用性和針對性。
