　　教育部在2005年頒布的《全國大學(xué)英語四、六級考試改革方案》中強(qiáng)調(diào)指出：大學(xué)英語四、六級考試改革的目標(biāo)就是要更準(zhǔn)確地考核我國在校大學(xué)生的英語綜合應(yīng)用能力，尤其是聽說能力?，F(xiàn)行四、六級考試中聽力理解所占的比例由原來的20％提高到35％，而在即將到來的“機(jī)考”時代，聽力的重要性就更加突顯了。本書就是為了適應(yīng)這個形勢而編寫的。常規(guī)的六級聽力練習(xí)枯燥無味，很難讓讀者有興趣堅持下去，而本書完全不同于其他的六級聽力書，具體特點如下： 一、 話題編排科學(xué)　　作者分析了自2006年12月第一次到最新一次六級考試真題的聽力材料，其類型主要涉及經(jīng)濟(jì)、社會、教育、科技等10個方面。按照分析結(jié)果，將出現(xiàn)頻率最高的話題類型放在第一單元，以此降序排列。本書所選材料的長度、難度力求與真題保持一致，學(xué)習(xí)者在進(jìn)行訓(xùn)練時猶如實戰(zhàn)，幫助考生有重點、有方向地進(jìn)行練習(xí)。

　　A critic once described Miller as an activist for the common man. He demonstrates this well in one of his most famous plays Death of a Salesman. The main character is a man whose dreams of success in business have died.　　This great play, opened on Broadway in nineteen forty-nine. He was thirty-three years old when he wrote it. Death of a Salesman questions the pressures in American society for people to gain financial success. The play also continues his exploration of the relationships between fathers and sons.　　The central character in Death of a Salesman is sixty-year-old Willy Loman. The action opens on the last day of Willys life. He has been dismissed from his job as a traveling salesman. He also recognizes that he has failed as a father. Willy thinks about killing himself.　　Willys wife Linda understands that he is deeply and dangerously sad.
