　　第一章 處世哲學(xué) Do Things Reasonably　　A Mouse Trap 一只鼠夾　　一只老鼠從墻上的縫隙里向屋里窺視，發(fā)現(xiàn)農(nóng)夫和妻子正在打開一個(gè)包裹。包里是什么好吃的呢？老鼠很好奇。結(jié)果他驚恐地發(fā)現(xiàn)里面竟是個(gè)鼠夾！　　他趕忙溜了出來，來到院子里宣布這個(gè)可怕的消息?！拔堇镉兄皇髪A！屋里有只鼠夾！”母雞聽到后略咯大笑，她一邊用爪子撓著地面，一邊高昂著頭說道：“老鼠先生，我可以告訴你，它對(duì)你來說是個(gè)性命攸關(guān)的問題，但是對(duì)于我又有什么關(guān)系呢？我可不會(huì)被它影響的。”老鼠轉(zhuǎn)向豬說：“屋里有個(gè)鼠夾廣‘對(duì)此我深表遺憾，老鼠先生，”豬同情地說，“但是除了祈禱我也沒有其他的辦法，希望我的祈禱能保佑你。”老鼠又向奶牛訴說了這個(gè)消息。奶?；卮鸬溃骸笆裁?？一個(gè)鼠夾！　　老鼠先生，難道對(duì)我是什么致命的威脅嗎？哈哈。”老鼠只好垂頭喪氣地回到屋里，沮喪地獨(dú)自面對(duì)這個(gè)可怕的東西一一鼠夾?！　【驮谀翘焱砩?，屋里傳來了響聲，聽起來像是鼠夾捕獲了獵物。農(nóng)夫的妻子；中到那里去看什么被逮住了。黑暗中，她沒看清夾子夾住了一條毒蛇的尾巴。這時(shí)，毒蛇狠狠地咬了她一口。農(nóng)夫趕忙把妻子送到醫(yī)院，回來后她就一直高燒不退。聽說新鮮的雞湯能治病，于是農(nóng)夫拿著斧子來到院子里殺了母雞。但是妻子的病情仍未見好轉(zhuǎn)，周圍的鄰居和朋友們都來看望她。為了招待他們，農(nóng)夫又殺了豬。后來，妻子的病不治而亡。許多人來參加她的葬禮，農(nóng)夫只好又讓人宰了扔牛來招待他們。
