前言

  隨著我國(guó)高等教育事業(yè)的蓬勃發(fā)展,全國(guó)已有800多所高校開(kāi)設(shè)了藝術(shù)類專業(yè),徜徉在藝術(shù)殿堂的學(xué)子數(shù)量也早已突破30萬(wàn)人。藝術(shù)專業(yè)的學(xué)生是一個(gè)特殊的群體,他們情感豐富,思維活躍,具有較高的藝術(shù)天賦和創(chuàng)造性,但英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)卻是他們普遍的薄弱環(huán)節(jié)??涨霸龆嗟乃囆g(shù)類學(xué)生對(duì)大學(xué)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)提出了新的挑戰(zhàn)。為了順應(yīng)新時(shí)期藝術(shù)專業(yè)發(fā)展的潮流,滿足藝術(shù)專業(yè)學(xué)生學(xué)好英語(yǔ)的要求,我們針對(duì)藝術(shù)專業(yè)學(xué)生的特點(diǎn),提出了“以實(shí)用為主,以夠用為度,以應(yīng)用為目的”的教學(xué)原則,從真正激發(fā)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)興趣、切實(shí)提高應(yīng)用水平出發(fā),編寫(xiě)了本套教材?! ”咎捉滩木哂幸韵绿厣! ∫弧⒆⒅鼗A(chǔ)知識(shí)的鞏固。相對(duì)而言,藝術(shù)類學(xué)生進(jìn)入高校時(shí)英語(yǔ)基礎(chǔ)較為薄弱。本套教材在注重對(duì)學(xué)生原有基礎(chǔ)不斷回顧、鞏固的同時(shí),力求語(yǔ)言的簡(jiǎn)明平易。語(yǔ)法知識(shí)從最基本處入手,聽(tīng)力訓(xùn)練從辨音開(kāi)始,所選原著的段落和文章也比較淺顯。整套教材循序漸進(jìn)、難度適中?! 《?、側(cè)重藝術(shù)題材的選擇。本套教材精心設(shè)計(jì)教學(xué)內(nèi)容,將每個(gè)章節(jié)的主題設(shè)計(jì)成與音樂(lè)、雕塑、園林、舞蹈、動(dòng)漫等藝術(shù)相關(guān)的話題,將教材內(nèi)容與藝術(shù)類學(xué)生的專業(yè)聯(lián)系起來(lái),通過(guò)對(duì)感興趣話題的學(xué)習(xí),激發(fā)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的積極性和主動(dòng)性。  三、著眼實(shí)踐能力的鍛煉。學(xué)英語(yǔ),在掌握基本的語(yǔ)法和詞匯后,主要靠實(shí)踐和模仿。本套教材把語(yǔ)言材料和語(yǔ)言知識(shí)活化為學(xué)生熟悉的事物,圖文并茂,用聯(lián)想、繪畫(huà)、音樂(lè)等相關(guān)知識(shí)和信息進(jìn)行教學(xué),讓學(xué)生在積極的體驗(yàn)中學(xué)習(xí)語(yǔ)言、鍛煉能力?! ∷?、努力貼近學(xué)生、貼近實(shí)際。本教材主要由武漢工業(yè)學(xué)院和華中師范大學(xué)漢口分校長(zhǎng)期從事一線教學(xué)的教師編寫(xiě)。他們熟悉學(xué)生情況,了解學(xué)生的需求,對(duì)解決藝術(shù)類學(xué)生英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)的難點(diǎn)及問(wèn)題提出了較好的應(yīng)對(duì)策略?! ”咎捉滩某龑W(xué)生用書(shū)外,還包含教師用書(shū)和聽(tīng)力材料光盤(pán),既豐富和拓展了教學(xué)內(nèi)容,也為教師授課和學(xué)生自主學(xué)習(xí)提供了便利?! ≡诰帉?xiě)過(guò)程中,華中科技大學(xué)出版社的楊鷗、劉平、榮靜等老師給予了建設(shè)性的意見(jiàn)和極大的幫助,在此一并表示感謝?! ∮捎跁r(shí)間、水平有限,本套教材疏誤之處在所難免。懇請(qǐng)方家提出寶貴意見(jiàn),以便不斷修改完善。

  5 Around the beginning of the 1900s, a dancer named Isadora Duncan rejected the rigid structure of ballet. She wanted to dance according to her feelings. Isadora danced with bare feet. She kicked and jumped in natural ways, which were quite different from the leaps of ballet.  6 About this same time, a graceful dancer named Ruth St. Denis became inspired by the dance and drama of countries such as Japan, India, and Egypt. Ruth married a talented dancer and choreographer named Ted Shawn. In 1915, Ruth and Ted started the first modern dance school in the United States, called Denishawn. They went on to train some of the leading dancers and choreographers in modern American dance.  7 Modern dance has become a way for people to strongly communicate tleir ideas. Modern dancers can use exciting new movements not possible in ballet. Choreographers no longer have to tell a story. They can create dances to show what life on city streets is like, what people love and hate, and what is happening in society.
