前言

　　自20世紀(jì)90年代以來，現(xiàn)代物流業(yè)發(fā)展迅速。因?yàn)樗槕?yīng)了經(jīng)濟(jì)全球化和生產(chǎn)信息化的大趨勢。謀求資源在全球范圍內(nèi)的優(yōu)化配置、企業(yè)專注于其核心業(yè)務(wù)的改革和由生產(chǎn)信息化帶來的對物流的更高要求，是現(xiàn)代物流發(fā)展的動因所在。對于有志于從事物流業(yè)的讀者，了解物流業(yè)的最新進(jìn)展十分重要。為此，我們組織了專門的隊伍來編寫本教材。在本書的編寫隊伍中，有長期從事英語教學(xué)的老師，有曾在國際領(lǐng)先的跨國物流企業(yè)工作的專業(yè)人士，也有在境外從事全球物流研究的學(xué)者?！　”窘滩氖且槐居⒄Z教材，但編著者從來沒有把它僅僅作為專業(yè)英語教材，而是按專業(yè)導(dǎo)論書的要求來組織和編寫的。在選材和編寫的過程中，編者始終以讀者的眼光審視內(nèi)容。通過閱讀，讀者能得到什么知識？對將來閱讀物流原著幫助有多大？　　誠然，要在一本教材中將一個學(xué)科的內(nèi)容全部囊括進(jìn)去是不可能的。本書主要定位于實(shí)用操作級。有關(guān)其他方面的內(nèi)容，有興趣的讀者可以參閱作者的《供應(yīng)鏈與物流英語教程》、《現(xiàn)代物流英語》（第二版）。

內(nèi)容概要

《物流英語》是物流工程、物流管理專業(yè)的專業(yè)英語教材，選材內(nèi)容涵蓋海陸空鐵運(yùn)輸、倉儲與庫存管理、貨代與物流業(yè)務(wù)、國際貿(mào)易與電子商務(wù)、班輪業(yè)務(wù)、集裝箱運(yùn)輸業(yè)務(wù)、物流與供應(yīng)鏈管理等方面。內(nèi)容精簡、專業(yè)、全面、實(shí)用，深度恰當(dāng)。《物流英語》適用于物流工程與管理專業(yè)本科生、高職生和其他相關(guān)專業(yè)作教材，也可供物流部門工程技術(shù)人員參考。

作者簡介

樂美龍，博士，上海交通大學(xué)教授、博士生導(dǎo)師，中美物流研究院副院長，中國交通運(yùn)輸協(xié)會常務(wù)理事，美國供應(yīng)鏈與物流專業(yè)協(xié)會（CSCMP）會員，是我國交通運(yùn)輸與物流工程領(lǐng)域的專家。
先后參與了國內(nèi)兩項重大港航建設(shè)項目——洋山深水港工程、廣州南沙港工程的規(guī)劃工作以及上海世博會物流（非貿(mào)）運(yùn)營手冊的起草工作，主持了寧波化工區(qū)物流配套、江蘇洋口液化品物流園區(qū)等十幾項大型物流規(guī)劃與管理項目。
    2007年，應(yīng)邀赴美國喬治亞理工大學(xué)工業(yè)與系統(tǒng)工程學(xué)院，擔(dān)任供應(yīng)鏈與物流研究員。
