內(nèi)容概要

　　本教材是根據(jù)教育部高等學(xué)校外語專業(yè)教學(xué)指導(dǎo)委員會英語組制訂的《英語教學(xué)大綱》（2000年4月修訂）編寫的英語專業(yè)閱讀教材。全書共兩冊，20章，按題材分為：論閱讀、大自然、人、個人與社會、文化、藝術(shù)、心理學(xué)、科學(xué)與技術(shù)、經(jīng)濟與經(jīng)濟學(xué)、歷史、教育、語言、男人與女人、政治、環(huán)境保護、媒體、人物傳記、宗教、論死亡。每章含4～5篇文章，既有論說文，又有短篇小說、戲劇和詩歌。本教材適合青年教師、研究生、英語專業(yè)高年級學(xué)生使用，將給使用者語言質(zhì)量的提高、視野的開拓、思辨能力的增強以及綜合素質(zhì)的培養(yǎng)提供較大幫助。
