新標(biāo)準(zhǔn)大學(xué)英語

前言

　　承外語教學(xué)與研究出版社與英國麥克米倫出版公司之邀，由中英雙方作者組成的編寫委員會聯(lián)合主持編寫了《新標(biāo)準(zhǔn)大學(xué)英語》這套國際化、立體化系列教材。自2005年項目啟動以來，《新標(biāo)準(zhǔn)大學(xué)英語》編委會成員密切合作，充分發(fā)揮各自優(yōu)勢與專長，就教材設(shè)計與編寫等相關(guān)方面進行了廣泛而深入的調(diào)查與研討。在此過程中，我們拜訪專家，研究現(xiàn)行教材，到課堂聽課，與教師座談，與學(xué)生交流，經(jīng)過充分調(diào)研與反復(fù)論證，確定了本教材設(shè)計理念與編寫方案。　　2008年秋，我們在國內(nèi)選定多所院校進行試用，在認(rèn)真聽取試用院校師生反饋意見與建議的基礎(chǔ)上，又對教材進行了調(diào)整和完善?，F(xiàn)正式出版，與廣大高校師生見面。編寫依據(jù)一、《新標(biāo)準(zhǔn)大學(xué)英語》以教育部頒布的《大學(xué)英語課程教學(xué)要求》為指導(dǎo)，在設(shè)計與編寫中力求準(zhǔn)確把握大學(xué)英語教學(xué)的性質(zhì)與目標(biāo)，遵循對學(xué)生英語綜合應(yīng)用能力培養(yǎng)的要求，貫徹為實現(xiàn)教學(xué)目標(biāo)所倡導(dǎo)的教學(xué)模式、教學(xué)評估與教學(xué)管理等原則。同時，《新標(biāo)準(zhǔn)大學(xué)英語》借鑒與采納了近年來大學(xué)英語教學(xué)改革的成功經(jīng)驗與教學(xué)實踐的成果，希望通過新的教材體系與教學(xué)理念進一步推動大學(xué)英語教學(xué)的發(fā)展?！　《?、《新標(biāo)準(zhǔn)大學(xué)英語》充分考慮與基礎(chǔ)階段英語教學(xué)的銜接，滿足新形勢下的教學(xué)需要。自2001年起，教育部先后頒布了基礎(chǔ)義務(wù)教育階段與高中階段《英語課程標(biāo)準(zhǔn)）），高中新課程實驗自2004年開始實施。目前，根據(jù)《英語課程標(biāo)準(zhǔn)》“一條龍”教學(xué)培養(yǎng)出的中學(xué)生正大批升人大學(xué)，他們的英語能力、學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣、認(rèn)知水平、思維方式等都已不同于以往入校的學(xué)生。這勢必對大學(xué)英語教學(xué)提出更新、更高的要求?！缎聵?biāo)準(zhǔn)大學(xué)英語》在設(shè)計中充分考慮了新的教學(xué)對象的學(xué)習(xí)需求，并為教學(xué)提供了多種解決方案?！　∪ⅰ缎聵?biāo)準(zhǔn)大學(xué)英語》體現(xiàn)“教師主導(dǎo)，學(xué)生主體”的教學(xué)思想，充分考慮學(xué)生與教師在教學(xué)過程中的關(guān)系、作用與需求，促進師生的積極互動與共同發(fā)展。本著“以人為本”的理念，《新標(biāo)準(zhǔn)大學(xué)英語》從教材到網(wǎng)絡(luò)自主學(xué)習(xí)平臺的設(shè)計，從每一教程、每一單元到每一具體語言點的設(shè)計，都以學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)與發(fā)展為根本；同時，在教學(xué)內(nèi)容、教學(xué)活動與教學(xué)過程的安排中，注重教師的主導(dǎo)作用與師生的互動交流，從而實現(xiàn)在教師的啟發(fā)與指導(dǎo)下，學(xué)生積極地、富有創(chuàng)造性地學(xué)習(xí)。

　　Men have always been interested in looking smart，but never as interested as women in keeping up withthe latest fashion trends. They'll dress up for a specialoccasion and if it's really special they'll polish theirshoes， but generally， a man doesn't feel he needs tofollow the latest fashion in order to look good.　　The reason is that traditionally women havedressed up to attract men， not the other way round，and so fashion， make-up， skincare and hairstyleshave always been more important for women thanmen. But now that women consist of 50 per cent ofthe workforce and have achieved equal rights withmen， the balance is changing， which is why， maybenow， in the West， men have to work harder to attract and keep the women they want.　　There is no question that young men， encouraged by the media， are more interested in their appearance than they used to be. A minority has always been interested in how they look and this has been the case since the 18th century and even earlier. But what we are seeing today is a wider emphasis onlooking good， the publicity being， "If you look good，you feel good and you are more attractive." 　　……
