新標準大學英語

前言

　　承外語教學與研究出版社與英國麥克米倫出版公司之邀，由中英雙方作者組成的編寫委員會聯(lián)合主持編寫了《新標準大學英語》這套國際化、立體化系列教材。自2005年項目啟動以來，《新標準大學英語》編委會成員密切合作，充分發(fā)揮各自優(yōu)勢與專長，就教材設計與編寫等相關(guān)方面進行了廣泛而深入的調(diào)查與研討。在此過程中，我們拜訪專家，研究現(xiàn)行教材，到課堂聽課，與教師座談，與學生交流，經(jīng)過充分調(diào)研與反復論證，確定了本教材設計理念與編寫方案。　　2008年秋，我們在國內(nèi)選定多所院校進行試用，在認真聽取試用院校師生反饋意見與建議的基礎(chǔ)上，又對教材進行了調(diào)整和完善。現(xiàn)正式出版，與廣大高校師生見面。編寫依據(jù)一、《新標準大學英語》以教育部頒布的《大學英語課程教學要求》為指導，在設計與編寫中力求準確把握大學英語教學的性質(zhì)與目標，遵循對學生英語綜合應用能力培養(yǎng)的要求，貫徹為實現(xiàn)教學目標所倡導的教學模式、教學評估與教學管理等原則。同時，《新標準大學英語》借鑒與采納了近年來大學英語教學改革的成功經(jīng)驗與教學實踐的成果，希望通過新的教材體系與教學理念進一步推動大學英語教學的發(fā)展?！　《ⅰ缎聵藴蚀髮W英語》充分考慮與基礎(chǔ)階段英語教學的銜接，滿足新形勢下的教學需要。自2001年起，教育部先后頒布了基礎(chǔ)義務教育階段與高中階段《英語課程標準）），高中新課程實驗自2004年開始實施。目前，根據(jù)《英語課程標準》“一條龍”教學培養(yǎng)出的中學生正大批升人大學，他們的英語能力、學習習慣、認知水平、思維方式等都已不同于以往入校的學生。這勢必對大學英語教學提出更新、更高的要求。《新標準大學英語》在設計中充分考慮了新的教學對象的學習需求，并為教學提供了多種解決方案?！　∪?、《新標準大學英語》體現(xiàn)“教師主導，學生主體”的教學思想，充分考慮學生與教師在教學過程中的關(guān)系、作用與需求，促進師生的積極互動與共同發(fā)展。本著“以人為本”的理念，《新標準大學英語》從教材到網(wǎng)絡自主學習平臺的設計，從每一教程、每一單元到每一具體語言點的設計，都以學生的學習與發(fā)展為根本；同時，在教學內(nèi)容、教學活動與教學過程的安排中，注重教師的主導作用與師生的互動交流，從而實現(xiàn)在教師的啟發(fā)與指導下，學生積極地、富有創(chuàng)造性地學習。

內(nèi)容概要

　　《新標準大學英語（綜合訓練4）》是由外語教學與研究出版社與英國麥克米倫出版公司共同開發(fā)、中外英語教育專家合作設計與編寫的一套新型立體化大學英語系列教程。本系列教程以《大學英語課程教學要求》為指導，與基礎(chǔ)階段英語教學有機銜接，結(jié)合新形勢下的教學需要，通過科學的設計、嚴謹?shù)木帉懪c豐富的資源有效促進學生英語綜合應用能力、自主學習策略與綜合文化素養(yǎng)的培養(yǎng)?！　　缎聵藴蚀髮W英語》系列教程包含1-4級，每級有《綜合教程》、《視聽說教程》、《快速閱讀》、《綜合訓練》與《同步測試》，同時提供學習光盤、教學光盤、網(wǎng)絡自主學習平臺、試題庫等教學資源，滿足大學英語教學各環(huán)節(jié)的需要。

　　Men have always been interested in looking smart，but never as interested as women in keeping up withthe latest fashion trends. They'll dress up for a specialoccasion and if it's really special they'll polish theirshoes， but generally， a man doesn't feel he needs tofollow the latest fashion in order to look good.　　The reason is that traditionally women havedressed up to attract men， not the other way round，and so fashion， make-up， skincare and hairstyleshave always been more important for women thanmen. But now that women consist of 50 per cent ofthe workforce and have achieved equal rights withmen， the balance is changing， which is why， maybenow， in the West， men have to work harder to attract and keep the women they want.　　There is no question that young men， encouraged by the media， are more interested in their appearance than they used to be. A minority has always been interested in how they look and this has been the case since the 18th century and even earlier. But what we are seeing today is a wider emphasis onlooking good， the publicity being， "If you look good，you feel good and you are more attractive." 　　……
