最簡句法入門

前言

　　《最簡句法入門：探究英語的結構》是作者繼其1997年所著、由劍橋大學出版社出版的兩本教材《句法理論和英語結構》和《句法：最簡方案介紹》后出版的又一本有關最簡方案的句法學教材。與1997年出版的《句法：最簡方案介紹》相比，《最簡句法入門：探究英語的結構》在內容和形式上都有所改變。相對來說，《句法：最簡方案介紹》的內容高度濃縮，行文節(jié)奏較快，要求讀者有一定的理論基礎，因此適用于語言學專業(yè)的高年級本科生和研究生?！蹲詈喚浞ㄈ腴T：探究英語的結構》針對的讀者則是學習普通語言學的學生，修讀過語言學入門的本科生即可使用。因此作者行文時，盡可能使用通俗的語言和形象的比喻來詮釋艱澀的術語和抽象概念，這大大增強了《最簡句法入門：探究英語的結構》的可讀性。　　與《句法：最簡方案介紹》一書相同，《最簡句法入門：探究英語的結構》共分10章，其中第1-5章及第8章的標題兩書基本一致。在《句法：最簡方案介紹》一書中，“主語”為一個單獨的章節(jié)，而《最簡句法入門：探究英語的結構》則將其糅進第7章“A移位”及第8章“呼應，格位與移位”?！毒浞ǎ鹤詈喎桨附榻B》的第9章“VP嵌套”在《最簡句法入門：探究英語的結構》第9章“分裂投射”中作為一則實例來討論。而《最簡句法入門：探究英語的結構》第10章“語段”則是全新的內容。因為《最簡句法入門：探究英語的結構》語言通俗易懂、書中例證淺顯貼切、敘述節(jié)奏較緩，因此《最簡句法入門：探究英語的結構》篇幅較長。而且為幫助讀者自學，每章后面都配兩套有針對性的練習題。每套練習題均提供了相關暗示，以引導讀者解題。作者為每套題的第一題作了示范解答，供讀者答其他題目時參照?！　⊥渌麑W科領域一樣，在確定研究方向和檢驗研究成果時，語言學將標準確立在自然性、簡約性、精致性、解釋性等幾項指標上。由于柏拉圖的問題(即為何人類不必事事親歷便能獲得對世間事物的認知。反映在語言能力上，就是為何兒童不必有人教就能獨立操控自己的母語。)
