內(nèi)容概要

　　《新世紀(jì)高等院校英語(yǔ)專業(yè)本科生系列教材（修訂版）：西方文化導(dǎo)論（第2版）》編寫的初衷是向中國(guó)學(xué)生和一般讀者介紹西方文化的全貌，為此著者葉勝年力圖挑選那些比較重要的歷史時(shí)期和相關(guān)事件、人物，注意從歷史和心智意義上去陳述西方文化發(fā)展的歷程。這些內(nèi)容包括古典主義時(shí)期的起源、猶太和基督教文化、中世紀(jì)、文藝復(fù)興、啟蒙運(yùn)動(dòng)等不同時(shí)期，以及諸如浪漫主義、現(xiàn)實(shí)主義、自然主義、新古典主義、現(xiàn)代派和后現(xiàn)代派這樣一些文化／文學(xué)流派，再加上古典經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、烏托邦思想、德國(guó)古典哲學(xué)、馬克思主義、達(dá)爾文主義、實(shí)證主義、功利主義、實(shí)用主義、弗洛伊德的精神分析等這些有一定影響的思想理論。這些內(nèi)容基本上按照時(shí)間順序排列，分為12章。
