前言

  世界上不同文化之間的交流很早以前就已經(jīng)有了,但由于交通和通訊手段的限制,跨文化交際在過去很長(zhǎng)時(shí)間里基本上是只涉及少數(shù)人的活動(dòng)?! 纳蟼€(gè)世紀(jì)開始,尤其是近幾十年來,情況有了根本性的變化。科學(xué)技術(shù)突飛猛進(jìn)的發(fā)展帶來了交通和通訊手段的迅速改善,跨文化的交際在廣度、密度和深度上都達(dá)到了空前的地步。人們發(fā)現(xiàn),地球變小了,成了名符其實(shí)的“地球村”,身居其中而老死不相往來的情況一去不復(fù)返了。不管你愿意不愿意,大家都成了痛癢相關(guān)、休戚相系的“鄰居”?! ∵M(jìn)入21世紀(jì),“全球化”浪潮更是洶涌澎湃,欲將世界各地不同文化的人群統(tǒng)統(tǒng)卷入其中??缥幕浑H更是成為越來越普遍的日?,F(xiàn)實(shí),我們不可避免地要和許多有著不同文化背景和取向的人們進(jìn)行交往。而近年來國(guó)際社會(huì)所發(fā)生的一系列事件與變化,更是將跨文化交際推到了至關(guān)重要的地位。不同文化群體的人們能否在“地球村”這個(gè)人類擁有的唯一家園中共處共存,共同努力來解決關(guān)系人類命運(yùn)的一系列重大問題,很大程度上取決于我們能否有效地進(jìn)行交往并逐步達(dá)到相互理解?! ∫虼耍囵B(yǎng)跨文化意識(shí),發(fā)展跨文化交際能力,學(xué)會(huì)與來自不同文化背景的人進(jìn)行交往,對(duì)于生活在21世紀(jì)、肩負(fù)著人類未來希望的青年學(xué)子來說,就顯得尤為重要。無論你所學(xué)專業(yè)是什么,將來從事何種職業(yè),具備超越文化局限的眼光和意識(shí),擁有跨文化交際的知識(shí)和技能,都是十分必要的,其意義對(duì)于社會(huì)進(jìn)步和個(gè)人發(fā)展來說怎么強(qiáng)調(diào)都不過分?! ∥覀?cè)诙嗄陱氖驴缥幕浑H研究和教學(xué)的基礎(chǔ)上,編寫了這本教材,主要供研究生公共英語教學(xué)使用,同時(shí)也適合一切具有中級(jí)及以上英語水平、對(duì)跨文化交流感興趣的學(xué)習(xí)者和其他人士閱讀、學(xué)習(xí)。我們希望,通過使用本教材,不僅能使學(xué)習(xí)者進(jìn)一步掌握運(yùn)用英語獲取知識(shí)信息、表述意見觀點(diǎn)、分析問題和解決問題的技能,全面提高英語水平,更有助于學(xué)習(xí)者認(rèn)識(shí)跨文化交際對(duì)當(dāng)代世界所具有的重要意義和作用,了解文化對(duì)人類生活各個(gè)方面、尤其是交際活動(dòng)的制約和影響,理解并把握交際活動(dòng)的重要性、豐富性、復(fù)雜性,熟悉跨文化交際的基本構(gòu)成以及所涉及的各種因素,培養(yǎng)跨文化意識(shí),形成和發(fā)展對(duì)文化差異的敏感和寬容以及處理文化差異問題的靈活性,為最終獲得與不同文化背景人們進(jìn)行深入交流的實(shí)際能力奠定堅(jiān)實(shí)基礎(chǔ)?! ”窘滩挠砂藗€(gè)單元共十六課構(gòu)成,每個(gè)單元圍繞與跨文化交際有關(guān)的一個(gè)方面或范疇展開,其中的兩課既相互關(guān)聯(lián)又各有側(cè)重、相對(duì)獨(dú)立。

內(nèi)容概要
