前言

  隨著改革開(kāi)放的日趨深入,社會(huì)各界對(duì)外語(yǔ)人才的需求持續(xù)增長(zhǎng),我國(guó)英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)的招生規(guī)模逐年擴(kuò)大,教學(xué)質(zhì)量不斷提高。英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)本科生教育的改革、學(xué)科建設(shè)及教材的出版亦取得了巨大的成績(jī),先后出版了一系列在全國(guó)有影響的精品教材。21世紀(jì)的到來(lái)對(duì)英語(yǔ)人才的培養(yǎng)提出了更高的標(biāo)準(zhǔn),同時(shí)也為學(xué)科建設(shè)和教材編寫(xiě)提出了新的要求。隨著中國(guó)加入世界貿(mào)易組織,社會(huì)需要的不是僅僅懂英語(yǔ)的畢業(yè)生,而是思維科學(xué)、心理健康、知識(shí)面廣博、綜合能力強(qiáng),并能熟練運(yùn)用英語(yǔ)的高素質(zhì)的專(zhuān)門(mén)人才。由于中學(xué)新的課程標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的頒布,中學(xué)生英語(yǔ)水平逐年提升,英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)本科生入學(xué)時(shí)的基礎(chǔ)和綜合素質(zhì)也相應(yīng)提高。此外,大學(xué)英語(yǔ)(公外)教育的迅猛發(fā)展,學(xué)生英語(yǔ)能力的提高,也為英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)學(xué)生的培養(yǎng)提出了嚴(yán)峻的挑戰(zhàn)和更新更高的要求。這就規(guī)定了21世紀(jì)的英語(yǔ)教學(xué)不是單純的英語(yǔ)培訓(xùn),而是英語(yǔ)教育,是以英語(yǔ)為主體,全面培養(yǎng)高素質(zhì)的復(fù)合型人才。教材的編寫(xiě)和出版也應(yīng)順隨這種潮流?! 榱擞訒r(shí)代的挑戰(zhàn),作為我國(guó)最大的外語(yǔ)教材和圖書(shū)出版基地之一的上海外語(yǔ)教育出版社(外教社)理應(yīng)成為外語(yǔ)教材出版的領(lǐng)頭羊。在充分調(diào)研的基礎(chǔ)上,外教社及時(shí)抓住機(jī)遇,于新世紀(jì)之初約請(qǐng)了全國(guó)25所主要外語(yǔ)院校和教育部重點(diǎn)綜合大學(xué)英語(yǔ)院系的50多位英語(yǔ)教育家,在上海召開(kāi)了“全國(guó)高等院校英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)本科生系列教材編寫(xiě)委員會(huì)會(huì)議”。代表們一致認(rèn)同了編寫(xiě)面向新世紀(jì)教材的必要性、可行性和緊迫性,并對(duì)編寫(xiě)思想、教材構(gòu)建、編寫(xiě)程序等提出了建議和要求。而后,外教社又多次召開(kāi)全國(guó)和上海地區(qū)的專(zhuān)家、學(xué)者會(huì)議,撰寫(xiě)編寫(xiě)大綱、確定教材類(lèi)別、選定教材項(xiàng)目、討論審核樣稿。經(jīng)過(guò)一年多的努力,終于迎來(lái)了第一批書(shū)稿。

內(nèi)容概要

本書(shū)旨在通過(guò)科學(xué)的教育方法,系統(tǒng)地教授寫(xiě)作知識(shí),使學(xué)生在完成英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)課程時(shí)掌握必要的寫(xiě)作知識(shí)及技巧,具備大綱所規(guī)定的寫(xiě)作能力。本系列教程在編寫(xiě)上旨在突出教學(xué)方法的科學(xué)性、教學(xué)內(nèi)容的系統(tǒng)性、連貫性、時(shí)代性及趣味性。在教學(xué)內(nèi)容安排和教學(xué)活動(dòng)設(shè)計(jì)上采用循序漸進(jìn)、循環(huán)往復(fù)的方式,強(qiáng)調(diào)各分冊(cè)之間的延續(xù)性和系統(tǒng)性,即各分冊(cè)既有相對(duì)的教學(xué)重點(diǎn)和獨(dú)立性,又與其他分冊(cè)構(gòu)成一個(gè)完整的寫(xiě)作教學(xué)體系。除學(xué)生用書(shū)外,本系列教程還配備教師用書(shū)?!秾?xiě)作教程(第3冊(cè)教師用書(shū))》為教師用書(shū)第三冊(cè),貫徹“以功能文體為突破口的跨文化交際法”,為三年級(jí)第一、二學(xué)期使用,共18單元。

  On a starlit night, passion carries them away. Before they make love, Blair starts totell Cody about the child she is going to have, but chickens out. Afterwards, there seemsto be no easy way to tell him. Over the next week, she tries, but never gets the words out.  When the month is almost up, Blair decides they have to talk. She still hasnt toldCody her secret, they havent used the word love, and they havent even mentioned whatthey will do when the month is over.  Cody blows his top when Blair tells him that she is pregnant with Victors baby. Hecant believe she hadnt told him, that she hadnt trusted him enough to tell him. He ismore hurt than angry. After she walks away, he suddenly realizes that he is so hurt becausehe loves her. He doesnt know when it happened, but he has fallen in love with her.  Blair is deeply hurt by Codys anger and the things he said. She plans to pack and leaveright away. She cares about him too much to take the ranch away from him. It shocks herto admit it, but to care that much, it has to be love. Real love.  Cody catches Blair before she can leave. He comes right out and tells her that he lovesher. She is filled with joy, but then thinks of her unborn child. She confesses her love forCody, but leaves him with no doubts that she is having her baby, and keeping it.  Cody agrees that he would have it no other way. He loves her enough to love her childjust as much as he loves her.  At the wedding, Blair and her mother seem to have come to an understanding. Codysends thanks heavenward to Grady for playing match maker.  In the epilogue, Blair is in labor. Cody is falling apart. He is in such a hurry to leavethe ranch with Blair, that he almost forgets something upstairs their little daughter,Lorena. Blair did tell Victor about the baby, but he wasnt very interested in fatherhood.Cody was more than happy to adopt the little girl. Still, he would never love her any lessthan the son they are about to welcome into the world.
