　　Tom arrived at the bus station quite early. The bus forParis would not leave until five to twelve.　 He saw a lotof people waiting in the station. Some were standing inline（排隊(duì)）, others were walking around.　 There was agroup of schoolgirls. Their teacher was trying to keepthem in line. Tom looked around but there was no placefor him to sit.　　He walked into the station care（咖啡館）. He lookedup at the clock there. It was only twenty to twelve. Hefound a seat and sat down before a large mirror（鏡子） onthe wall. Just then, Mike, one of Tom's workmates camein and sat with Tom.　　"What time is your bus？" asked Mike.　　"There's plenty of time yet," answered Tom.　　"Well, I'll get you some more tea then," said Mike,　　They talked while drinking, Then Tom looked at theclock again. "Oh ！It's going backward （倒行） ！" hecried. "A few minutes ago it was twenty to twelve andnow it's half past eleven. "　　"You're looking at the clock in the mirror," saidMike. Tom was so sad （難過）. The next bus was not toleave for another hour.　Since then Tom has never likedmirrors.
