　　It was only when he was spoken tO that he said a few words．　　他只是在別人跟他講話時(shí)才說幾句話?！　∽⒁猓阂陨蟽蓚€(gè)句型，放在句首時(shí)會(huì)引起主句的倒裝，但放在強(qiáng)調(diào)句中被強(qiáng)調(diào)時(shí)主句不使用倒裝。試比較：　?、貼ot until he arrived did we began our discussion．　　直到他來了我們才開始討論。（倒裝）　　It was not until he arrived that we began our discussion．　　我們的討論正是在他來了以后才開始的。（不倒裝）　?、贠nly when he left could we say a few words to each other．　　只有在他走了以后，我們才能說幾句話。（倒裝）　　It was only when he left that we could say a few words to each other．　　我們正是在他走了以后才能互相說幾句話。（不倒裝）　　二、強(qiáng)調(diào)句強(qiáng)調(diào)的成分　　以“I met one ofmy friends in the street yesterday afiemoon．”為例：　　It was I that|who met one ofmy friends in the street yesterday a emoon．是我昨天下午在大街上遇到我的一個(gè)老朋友。（強(qiáng)調(diào)主語）　　It was one of my friends that／whom I met in the street yesterday a emoon．　　昨天下午大街上我遇到的正是我的一個(gè)老朋友。（強(qiáng)調(diào)賓語）　　It was in the streetthat I met one ofmy friends yesterday afiemoon．　　我昨天下午正是在大街上遇到了我的一個(gè)老朋友。（強(qiáng)調(diào)地點(diǎn)狀語）　　It was／n the yesterday aftenoon that I met one ofmy friends in the street．正是在昨下午我在大街上遇到了一個(gè)老朋友。（強(qiáng)調(diào)時(shí)間狀語）　　構(gòu)成強(qiáng)調(diào)句的it本身沒有詞義，但不能用任何詞代替。強(qiáng)調(diào)句中的連接詞一般只有that，who，whom，且不可省略。強(qiáng)調(diào)句中be的形式只有兩種，一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)is和一般過去時(shí)was。原句謂語動(dòng)詞是一般過去時(shí)、過去完成時(shí)和過去進(jìn)行時(shí)，用was，其余的時(shí)態(tài)用is?！　　癐t is／was+被強(qiáng)調(diào)成分+that／who／whom+其他部分”這一結(jié)構(gòu)不能強(qiáng)調(diào)謂語。　　如果需要強(qiáng)調(diào)謂語，需用助動(dòng)詞do，does或did。例如：　　Do sit down．務(wù)必請坐?！　o be careful when you cross the street．過馬路時(shí)，務(wù)必（千萬）要小心??！　　He d／d write to you last week．上周他確實(shí)給你寫信了?！　。ㄗ⒁猓簭?qiáng)調(diào)過去時(shí)用did，后面的謂語動(dòng)詞用原形。）
