內(nèi)容概要

《替罪羊》寫于1957年。故事發(fā)生在法國的拉孟斯城。一個(gè)教法國歷史的英國教師約翰，對于自己在課堂上死板地講解課文內(nèi)容感到不滿意，他認(rèn)為他的工作是失敗的，生活也是乏味、不幸福的。為了了解法國社會(huì)的真實(shí)情況，在假期里他來到了法國的拉孟斯城。在那里，他遇到一個(gè)與他長得一模一樣的法國人讓·杜歌。雖然讓·杜歌很富裕，但由于家庭生活瑣事的煩惱和經(jīng)或的玻璃廠瀕于破產(chǎn)，他也感到生活很空虛、乏味，因而想逃離現(xiàn)實(shí)生活。兩人相遇后，讓·杜歌在酒中摻入了安眠藥，把約翰開得迷迷糊糊的，然后給他換上了自己的衣服，把他留在旅館中，而他自己卻溜走了。就這樣，約翰被讓·杜歌的家人誤認(rèn)為是讓·杜歌本人而接回家中。在與杜歌一家生活的一個(gè)星期中，約翰漸漸熟悉了杜歌家的情況，并對他家每個(gè)人的生活和工作作了適當(dāng)?shù)陌才?，他又設(shè)法使杜歌的玻璃廠避免倒閉，重新振興起來。這樣杜歌一家人與讓·杜歌的矛盾也消除了。

作者簡介

達(dá)夫妮·杜穆里埃是英國小說家和傳記作家，1907年5月13日生于倫敦。她是杰拉德·杜穆里埃的第二個(gè)女兒，1932年與英國的衛(wèi)步兵團(tuán)陸軍中將F.A.M.布郎寧爵士結(jié)婚。她是她父親的傳記《杰拉德的描寫》和《杜穆里埃一家》的作者。她的作品還有：《可愛的精神》，《牙買加客?！罚?/pre>

　　HOW I MET JEAN DE GUE　　I left my ear outside the beautiful church in the eentre of the city of Le Mans and began to walk.　　It was raining.There was always rain on the lastfew days of my holiday.Driving out of Tours I had feltnot quite satisfied with the notes of the lessons which I hadto give in London when I got back.Even if I held mystudents attention for half an hour, nothing that I gave tothem was of any value.I had given them only an unrealpicture of the history of France because I had never beenreally close to the people of France.All I had done in mylife in England and in France was to watch people, but notto share their happiness or pain.　　I was a failure. My life had been a failure.　　I had not meant to stay in Le Marts.But I thought"Its midday.I will stop and have a meal in a restaurantand perhaps that will make me feel happier."　　As I ate I looked at the people around me and listenedto them.I speak French perfectly, llke a Frenchman.Iunderstood everything they said.I knew all about theirhistory and their way of life; but I was not one of them:I was a stranger, a visitor.
