《霧都孤兒》是作者的第一部社會小說,年輕的狄更斯以現(xiàn)實派畫家威廉-荷加斯為榜樣,抱著改造社會、抗議社會的抱負,描寫一個淪于底層的孤兒奧利弗的悲慘遭遇。奧利弗自幼遭到遺棄,在孤兒院長大,因不堪棺材店老板的欺壓,逃到倫敦,不幸落入狠毒的竊賊團伙首領費金之于,被訓練成扒手。一次上街行竊,因誤會而被警察抓獲,釋放后由好心的紳士布朗洛所收養(yǎng)。此后又再次落入賊手,在心地善良的女扒手南希的協(xié)助下終于逃出賊窩,碰巧遇到自己的姨媽羅斯小姐,并找回本應由他繼承的遺產(chǎn)。    小說以孤兒奧利弗為線索,廣泛地展示了社會底層人們的生活,以及廣大以奧利弗、南希、羅斯為代表的善良人們的美好品噴,他們雖生活不幸,但都保持著美好的天性,給那個苦難深重、黑暗重重的霧都倫敦增添了些許亮色,洋溢著深厚的人道主義光輝。

  •   首先,當然還是書的質(zhì)量,比較不錯,紙張質(zhì)量和印刷都沒有任何問題
    其次,就是書的內(nèi)容,身為世界名著,內(nèi)容當然十分吸引人其意義也十分巨大。再者,身為原版(即英文版)更能感受到書的原汁原味。
    總之,十分值得一看
  •   原版就是原版,要是版面再大點就好了;要是用中國的線裝,16K的,那就完美了
