1. The busmens strike, which begins onTuesday, may last a week. Because of this, carowners have offered to give rides to people goingto work and university students have volunteeredto drive buses, too, but they will have to pass aspecial test. Though it will be difficult to get towork, the public is grateful to the students. Onlyone or two people have objected that the studentswill drive too fast. 2. Because of the busmens strike, which be-gins on Tuesday and may last a week,car ownershave offered to give rides to people going to workand university students who have volunteered todrive buses, too, but they will have to pass a spe-cial test. Despite the fact that it will he difficult toget to work,the public is grateful to the students,except for one or two people who have objectedthat they will drive too fast. Busmen were not satisfied with their low payand poor working conditions, so they went onstrike. The strike began last Tuesday. No oneknew how long it would last. This caused greattrouble to those who have to go to work by buseveryday. A number of university students volun-teered to drive buses, and they even offeredfree ridesto people on their way to school while the strike lasted. This would relieve pressure on the trains to some extent. But the students drove bad- ly,as they were not expert drivrs.
