前言
1.《零起點托福漸進教程》編寫的緣由 隨著我國的經(jīng)濟的高速發(fā)展,人們觀念的日益更新,與世界的交往也更加頻繁,越來越多的青年參加TOEFL(托福)考試,驗證自己的英語水平,并希望出國留學深造,實現(xiàn)人生價值。截至2008年底,我國各類出國留學人員總數(shù)達139.1 5萬人。根據(jù)中國教育部發(fā)布的信息,2009年全年出國留學達到了22.9 萬人。在出國留學熱潮中北美一直是各類留學生的追捧的意向地區(qū)。從各主流留學機構(gòu)的業(yè)務統(tǒng)計來看,超過70%以上的客戶對赴北美國留學意向強烈,其中50%左右選擇前往美國和加拿大,而且這一比例還在攀升中。同時凸顯的另一個現(xiàn)象就是高中畢業(yè)生的留學熱潮。自2005年以來選擇出國留學的高中畢業(yè)生人數(shù)不斷攀升,2006年達到5萬人左右,約占全部出國留學人數(shù)的4成。2009年中國學生留學意向調(diào)查報告顯示,在計劃出國留學的學生學歷層次方面,本科生占57%,其次是高中生22%?! 〖幽么蟾叩冉逃A部作為加拿大國家教育交流中心與中國大學合作的國際標準化、規(guī)范化的高等基礎教育,于2001年在中國開設以來,隨著招生人數(shù)的不斷擴大,教學管理逐步規(guī)范.越來越多的畢業(yè)生直接進入加拿大個大學學士學位課程的學習。根據(jù)中國駐加拿大使館統(tǒng)計.中國現(xiàn)在在加拿大留學人數(shù)已經(jīng)超過5萬人,其中相當一部分學生是在私立學校、語言學校、??圃盒W習。而中國大學加拿大高等教育基礎部目前正在加拿大學習的學生,則全部在加拿大的公立大學學習,且有約60%的學生進入了世界500強大學。絕大部分學生成績良好,生活適應。加拿大高等教育基礎部的中心目標是,引進發(fā)達國家教學模式,實現(xiàn)國際標準化、規(guī)范化的高等基礎教育,促進教育多元化發(fā)展。同時,為有志于出國深造的中國學生建立一條正規(guī)高效、安全穩(wěn)妥的留學途徑。

Corporal punishment,or physical torturing,does more harm to the childrens physical growth,leaving much shadow on the psychological well-being of the child. An example goes to the Americanpop superstar, Michael Jackson. When he was a child, his father bullied(欺負) him badly wheneverhe did not want to dance as expected. At some incidences(事件) of this kind,he broke up with hisfather. The father and son relationship never reconciled(和解 ) afterwards ,leaving Jackson an emo-tional scar never recovered. Parents and teachers impulsively box (擊打) childrens ears and slap(v. 拍 ) them on the faces in the hope to cultivate the young generation stern (嚴厲) discipline(n. 紀律)will some day only find they are harming the proper relationship between them and theyoung or even worse,cracking down (壓制) the self-respect which the young need so much for ahealthy psychological development. Paragraph 3 3 The practice of selling junk food in the school should be stopped. For one reason, the junk foodmachines throughout the school contribute to unsightly (有雅觀 ) litter. As far as the footballfield,potato chip packages and soft drink cans scatter (分開) and constitute an unpleasant eye-catching sight with the bright colors. Worse still ,consumption of junk food can lead to poor academicperformance. According to Ms. Muller, school dietician (營養(yǎng)學專家), students often spend theirmoney for lunch on soft drinks or food from snack machines. As a result, many of them sit in the classwithout the energy and alertness that a more balanced diet would provide. More importantly,this prac-tice of junk food consumption may encourage poor eating habits which is likely to last a lifetime.
