　　農(nóng)歷十二月三十，是中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)的除夕之夜，既是一年勤苦忙碌、辭別舊歲的重要時(shí)刻，又具有祈望將-來、迎接新年的特殊意義。這一天晚上，家家戶戶男女老少都要?dú)g聚在一起吃年夜飯。這一頓年夜飯可以說是一年中最豐盛的晚餐，還有很多的講究，如必須吃魚寓意“年年有余”。按照舊習(xí)俗，大人小孩在這天晚上都要守歲，點(diǎn)起紅蠟燭，插一把大香，等待燭和香燃盡。年夜飯的守歲酒和果品也是不能吃完的，要陪伴人們守歲，吃到第二年?！　∥缫沽泓c(diǎn)一到，鞭炮齊鳴，煙花漫天，人們迎來新的一年。其實(shí)，春節(jié)在農(nóng)歷中也是元旦的意思，但是后來改用公歷紀(jì)年，辛亥革命以后，就把農(nóng)歷正月初一改為“春節(jié)”了。春節(jié)放鞭炮，來源于燃竹時(shí)發(fā)出“砰——啪”的聲音。傳說古代的人們用燃竹來嚇走山鬼怪獸。后來，人們把四大發(fā)明之一的火藥用來制作爆竹，還發(fā)明了各種各樣的爆竹煙花，以期趨吉避兇，來年吉祥如意。　　過春節(jié)時(shí)，家家戶戶門上都會(huì)貼春聯(lián)和門神。春聯(lián)上寫的是各種吉祥的話。現(xiàn)在，很多人家還喜歡把“?！弊值怪N在門上，與“福到”諧音。初一一早，人們還要穿上新衣服，互相串門拜年，說著吉祥如意的話，表達(dá)對(duì)來年的美好希望。而孩子們最開心的，莫過于在給長(zhǎng)輩們拜年的時(shí)候，會(huì)收到一封紅紙包裹的壓歲錢?！皦簹q”和“壓祟”同音，意思是長(zhǎng)輩們希望給孩子壓住邪祟，平平安安地度過新的一年。

Actually, the Spring Festivalmeans the same as the New Year's Day according to Chinese lunarcalendar. However after the Revolution of 1911, China began to takethe Georgian Calendar to number the years, so the 1st day of thelunar month was revised as the Spring Festival. The tradition of playingfirecrackers in the Spring Festival originated from a legend. It wassaid that the ancient people burnt bamboo to frighten the ghosts andmonsters, because the cracking sound of burning bamboo intimidatedthem a lot. Later, people used gunpowder, one of the four greatinventions of ancient China, to make firecrackers, which producedthe same cracking sound, when played, as that of burning bamboo.Furthermore, various kinds of fireworks were invented to play on NewYear's Eve so as to pursue good fortune and avoid disaster, and tosignify good luck and happiness.
