根據(jù)國(guó)務(wù)院決定，我國(guó)于2006年12月31日開(kāi)展了第二次全國(guó)農(nóng)業(yè)普查。時(shí)期資料為2006年度，普查對(duì)象為我國(guó)境內(nèi)的農(nóng)村住戶(hù)、城鎮(zhèn)農(nóng)業(yè)生產(chǎn)經(jīng)營(yíng)戶(hù)、農(nóng)業(yè)生產(chǎn)經(jīng)營(yíng)單位、村民委員會(huì)和鄉(xiāng)鎮(zhèn)人民政府。普查主要內(nèi)容包括：農(nóng)業(yè)生產(chǎn)條件、農(nóng)業(yè)生產(chǎn)經(jīng)營(yíng)活動(dòng)、農(nóng)業(yè)土地利用、農(nóng)村勞動(dòng)力及就業(yè)、農(nóng)村基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施、農(nóng)村社會(huì)服務(wù)、農(nóng)村居民生活，以及鄉(xiāng)鎮(zhèn)、村民委員會(huì)和社區(qū)環(huán)境等方面情況。農(nóng)業(yè)普查采用全面調(diào)查的方法，對(duì)所有普查對(duì)象由普查員進(jìn)行逐個(gè)查點(diǎn)和填報(bào)。通過(guò)普查，掌握了我國(guó)有關(guān)農(nóng)業(yè)、農(nóng)村、農(nóng)民的基本情況。    這本由國(guó)務(wù)院第二次全國(guó)農(nóng)業(yè)普查領(lǐng)導(dǎo)小組辦公室、中華人民共和國(guó)國(guó)家統(tǒng)計(jì)局編寫(xiě)的《中國(guó)第二次全國(guó)農(nóng)業(yè)普查資料綜合提要(英文版)》由八大部分組成，包括：簡(jiǎn)要文字說(shuō)明和主要指標(biāo)統(tǒng)計(jì)圖表；第一、二次全國(guó)農(nóng)業(yè)普查主要結(jié)果對(duì)比；農(nóng)業(yè)生產(chǎn)情況；農(nóng)村住戶(hù)情況；行政村概況；鄉(xiāng)鎮(zhèn)概況；第二次全國(guó)農(nóng)業(yè)普查指標(biāo)和方法制度的簡(jiǎn)要說(shuō)明等。
