內容概要

　　《老人與?！肥呛Ｃ魍拇碜?，也是一部象征性的小說。這部小說講述古巴的一個名叫圣地亞哥的老漁夫，獨自出海打魚，在八十四天一無所獲之后捕到了一條巨大無比的馬林魚。老人從來沒見過也沒聽說過這么大的魚，它比他的船還長兩英尺！魚的力氣非常大，拖著小船漂流了整整兩天兩夜，老人在這兩天兩夜中經歷了從未經受的艱難考驗，終于把魚刺死拴在船頭。然而，老人在返航時不幸遇上了鯊魚，他與鯊魚進行了殊死搏斗，最終，大馬林魚還是被鯊魚吃光了。老人歷經艱辛，最后拖回家的只是一副光禿禿的魚骨架和一身的傷痛，不過，他還是得到了人們的贊賞…… 這本《老人與海（世界文學名著英語原著版）》是“中譯經典文庫”系列之一，由中國出版集團公司、中國對外翻譯出版有限公司出品。

作者簡介

作者：（美國）海明威（Ernest Hemingway）  海明威（Ernest Hemingway），（1899-1961）是美國現代著名小說家、諾貝爾文學莫獲得者，早期以“迷惘的一代”的代表著稱。他的作品風格獨特，文體簡潔，在歐美很有影響。海明威1899年7月21日生于伊利諾伊州的奧克帕克。他父親是內科醫(yī)生和體育愛好者，母親是音樂教師，在父母的影響下，他從小就酷愛體育、捕魚、狩獵，愛好音樂與繪畫。中學畢業(yè)后，他當了6個月的《堪薩斯城星報》見習記者。第一次世界大戰(zhàn)爆發(fā)后，他志愿赴意大利當戰(zhàn)地救護車司機。1918年夏，他在前線被炮彈炸成重傷回國休養(yǎng)。1921年，他作為加拿大《多倫多星報》記者前往巴黎，結識了美國女作家斯坦因、青年作家安德森和詩人龐德等，在寫作上得到他們的鼓勵和指導。僑居巴黎的幾年是海明威文學生涯的啟蒙時期，后來，他放棄記者的采訪工作，專門從事寫作。他1923年發(fā)表處女作《三個短篇小說和十首詩》；1925年發(fā)表了短篇小說集

版權頁：   For a long time after that everyone had called him The Champion and there had been a return match in the spring.But not much money was bet and he had won it quite easily since he had broken the confidence of the negro from Cienfuegos in the first match.After that he had a few matches and then no more.He decided that he could beat anyone if he wanted to badly enough and he decided that it was bad for his right hand for fishing.He had tried a few practice matches with his left hand.But his left hand had always been a traitor and would not do what he called on it to do and he did not trust it. The sun will bake it out well now, he thought.It should not cramp on me again unless it gets too cold in the night.I wonder what this night will bring. An airplane passed overhead on its course to Miami and he watched its shadow searing up the schools of flying fish. "With so much flying fish there should be dolphin," he said, and leaned back on the line to see if it was possible to gain any on his fish.But he could not and it stayed at the hardness and water-drop shivering that preceded breaking.The boat moved ahead slowly and he watched the aeroplane until he could no longer see it. It must be very strange in an aeroplane, he thought.I wonder what the sea looks like from that height.They should be able to see the fish well if they do not fly too high.I would like to fly very slowly at two hundred fathoms high and see the fish from above.In the turtle boats I was in the cross-trees of the mast-head and even at that height I saw much.The dolphin look greener from there and you can see their stripes and their purple spots and you can see all ofthe school as they swim.Why is it that all the fast-moving fish of the dark current have purple backs and usually purple stripes or spots？ The dolphin looks green of course because he is really golden.But when he comes to feed, truly hungry, purple stripes show on his sides as on a marlin.Can it be anger, or the greater speed he makes that brings them out？
