Austen,1775年12月16日-1817年7月18日)是英國(guó)著名女性小說(shuō)家,她的作品主要關(guān)注鄉(xiāng)紳家庭女性的婚姻和生活,以女性特有的細(xì)致入微的觀察力和活潑風(fēng)趣的文字真實(shí)地描繪了她周圍世界的小天地。奧斯汀終身未婚,家道小康。由于居住在鄉(xiāng)村小鎮(zhèn),接觸到的是中小地主、牧師等人物以及他們恬靜、舒適的生活環(huán)境,因此她的作品里沒(méi)有重大的社會(huì)矛盾。她以女性特有的細(xì)致入微的觀察力,真實(shí)地描繪了她周圍世界的小天地,尤其是紳士淑女間的婚姻和愛(ài)情風(fēng)波。她的作品格調(diào)輕松詼諧,富有喜劇性沖突,深受讀者歡迎。
