前言
2004年出版的《旅游英語(yǔ)視聽說(shuō)》,是根據(jù)旅游專業(yè)職業(yè)教育培養(yǎng)目標(biāo)、遵循語(yǔ)言教學(xué)規(guī)律及旅游專業(yè)課程設(shè)置的實(shí)際,根據(jù)各高校旅游專業(yè)英語(yǔ)教材要求,在“21世紀(jì)高等教育通用教材編委會(huì)”及上海交通大學(xué)出版社職教編輯部的精心組織下,全國(guó)多所高等院校的學(xué)者、教師們通力合作下編寫出版的旅游專業(yè)英語(yǔ)系列之一。教材遵循專門化用途英語(yǔ)(ESP)的教學(xué)規(guī)律,緊密結(jié)合旅游服務(wù)、旅游管理的實(shí)際,突現(xiàn)旅游高職教育的特點(diǎn),抓住國(guó)際旅游業(yè)的發(fā)展趨勢(shì)及旅游教育的最新理念,力爭(zhēng)在覆蓋旅游業(yè)務(wù)分支行業(yè)的基礎(chǔ)上,用英語(yǔ)講授旅游管理的沿革、基本理論、最新理念、各種管理功能與職能并把管理知識(shí)的輸入與英語(yǔ)技能的養(yǎng)成結(jié)合起來(lái),把旅游服務(wù)英語(yǔ)與旅游管理英語(yǔ)磨合起來(lái)。特點(diǎn)是它的高層次性、系統(tǒng)性、應(yīng)用性。所謂“高層次性”,是指高職旅游英語(yǔ)教學(xué)屬于高等教育,因而有別于中專中職的英語(yǔ)教學(xué)。它在后者的基礎(chǔ)上,加深、拓寬專業(yè)英語(yǔ)的教學(xué)路子,從單純進(jìn)行操作型服務(wù)英語(yǔ)的教學(xué)進(jìn)入復(fù)合型英語(yǔ)的教學(xué)。“高層次性”的另一個(gè)涵義就是這套系列教材起點(diǎn)較高,采用當(dāng)代國(guó)際旅游業(yè)的最新觀念、創(chuàng)新理念,有相當(dāng)?shù)那罢靶?;所謂“系統(tǒng)性”,是指這套系列教材是個(gè)有機(jī)整體,以《旅游管理綜合英語(yǔ)》為前導(dǎo),全方位、多角度地涵蓋旅游業(yè)的各主要分支行業(yè),我們稱之為“一冊(cè)先行、多冊(cè)跟上”,形成群體效應(yīng)而不搞傳統(tǒng)的“單打一”。本套各種教材互相配合、相輔相成,既有共同目標(biāo),又有自身特色。此外,在編寫原則、編寫體例、編寫方法上也博采眾長(zhǎng),將各種行之有效的英語(yǔ)教學(xué)流派、教學(xué)方式整合于一體,力爭(zhēng)內(nèi)容新而全、形式多而活;所謂“應(yīng)用性”或日“職業(yè)性”是指這套旅游英語(yǔ)系列教材決非是普通高校旅游本科專業(yè)英語(yǔ)教材的“壓縮型”產(chǎn)品。本書《旅游英語(yǔ)視聽說(shuō)》作為與《旅游管理綜合英語(yǔ)》同步的教材,旨在配合《旅游管理綜合英語(yǔ)》,從視、聽、說(shuō)三方面來(lái)強(qiáng)化學(xué)生對(duì)旅游業(yè)宏觀知識(shí)的了解和認(rèn)識(shí)。本書全面介紹了旅游產(chǎn)業(yè)的方方面面,其中包括旅游業(yè)的歷史、旅游類型、吸引物、動(dòng)機(jī)、開發(fā)、規(guī)劃、影響與可持續(xù)性、營(yíng)銷、溝通、接待業(yè)、休閑管理、運(yùn)輸、人力資源和文化。此外,本書還對(duì)旅游政策、旅游教育和培訓(xùn)以及會(huì)展管理等幾個(gè)旅游管理不可或缺的領(lǐng)域進(jìn)行了簡(jiǎn)要的介紹。它旨在培養(yǎng)學(xué)員在旅游管理專業(yè)方面所必要的聽說(shuō)能力,從而使學(xué)員能夠順利地進(jìn)行有關(guān)旅游管理專業(yè)的日常交流活動(dòng)。
內(nèi)容概要
本收共分17課,每課含A,B,C三部分內(nèi)容。PART A為視,包含三種練習(xí)形式。練習(xí)一為專業(yè)術(shù)語(yǔ)及解釋,練習(xí)二為段落大意領(lǐng)會(huì),練習(xí)三為落閱讀理解。該部分旨在利用視覺(jué)對(duì)信息進(jìn)行強(qiáng)化記憶。PART B為聽力訓(xùn)練,包含四種練習(xí)形式。練習(xí)一為多項(xiàng)選擇,練習(xí)二為填空,練習(xí)三為判斷正誤,練習(xí)四為理解。PART C為口語(yǔ),也包含四種練習(xí)形式。練習(xí)一、二、三要求學(xué)生用口語(yǔ)表達(dá)形式對(duì)前面兩部分所讀和所聽到的專業(yè)信息,練習(xí)四為案例分析練習(xí)。課文所選用的資料絕大部分為近幾年國(guó)外出版的專業(yè)書籍及海外知大學(xué)的新刊論文,起點(diǎn)較高,內(nèi)容較高。練習(xí)的編排突出口頭交際能力的訓(xùn)練,鼓勵(lì)學(xué)員進(jìn)行課堂討論、扮演小品以及口頭作文。 《旅游英語(yǔ)祝聽說(shuō)》教材遵循英語(yǔ)教學(xué)語(yǔ)料庫(kù)及英語(yǔ)教學(xué)相結(jié)合的規(guī)律為旅游專業(yè)英語(yǔ)視聽說(shuō)教學(xué)提供了大量的語(yǔ)料,既適合于旅游管理本科學(xué)校也合適于高職高專旅游管理學(xué)校使用。各學(xué)校可以按照自己課時(shí)安排和學(xué)生的程度靈活選用。該教材配有光盤,教師可根據(jù)教學(xué)重點(diǎn)的需要和學(xué)校教學(xué)設(shè)備的配備情沖鋒選擇使用。

插圖:Tourism has become the main foreign sector in Jamaica. It grewsubstantially in the 1980s on the basis of only a small amount ofadditional investment. The main forms of holiday tourism are hotel-based, and much of the hotel capacity is still concentrated in urbanareas. There is a principal port of entry for tourists and virtually allarrive by air.The growth of tourism has put on a strain on the older urban areasthat still provide a focus for tourism shopping and recreation outsidehotels. Physically, there has been deterioration in roads, pavements,buildings and their surrounds. This is combined with problems ofsecurity and harassment. There is also an increasing problem in urbanservices such as water, cleansing and rubbish collection, partly owningto government expenditure cutbacks and lack of resources to localcouncils.A privately funded organization called "Jamaica Tourism ActionPlan" has been set up. It acts as a source of pressure on central andlocal government to consider tourism-related issues in the provision ofurban facilities, and in particular the several local areas that rely almostsolely on tourism. It also represents a means of stimulating expenditureindirectly in support of tourism outside the government budget, and istherefore consistent with general budgetary policy.The main focus of its activities is to rehabilitate tourism-frequentedareas and to preserve tourism's acceptability through these improvements tolocal populations. Both are regarded as essential to maintain the qualityof urban tourism for holiday-makers. Moreover, there is a risk thatbusiness incomes in shops and restaurants will simply decline unlessimprovements in the urban infrastructure are made.
