隨著我國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)體制改革的深入、經(jīng)濟(jì)全球化和我國(guó)日益融入WTO體系,物流業(yè)作為現(xiàn)代服務(wù)經(jīng)濟(jì)的重要支柱和組成部分,必將在我國(guó)得到空前發(fā)展,并成為我國(guó)國(guó)民經(jīng)濟(jì)的重要產(chǎn)業(yè)和新的經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)點(diǎn)?;凇邦櫩蜐M意”服務(wù)理念的“現(xiàn)代物流“,既是一個(gè)內(nèi)容涉及多技術(shù)、多學(xué)科的綜合性領(lǐng)域,也是一個(gè)科學(xué)系統(tǒng)的業(yè)務(wù)領(lǐng)域。它是集現(xiàn)代運(yùn)輸、信息網(wǎng)絡(luò)、倉(cāng)儲(chǔ)管理、營(yíng)銷策劃等諸多內(nèi)容于一體的一門多學(xué)科、多領(lǐng)域的綜合性管理學(xué)科。     但是在我國(guó),由于長(zhǎng)期受“重商流”、“輕物流“理論思想的影響,物流發(fā)展嚴(yán)重滯后。為了加快我國(guó)物流業(yè)的發(fā)展,2001年3月國(guó)家經(jīng)貿(mào)委等六個(gè)部委聯(lián)合下發(fā)了我國(guó)政府部門的第一個(gè)關(guān)于現(xiàn)代物流發(fā)展的指導(dǎo)性文件--《關(guān)于加快我國(guó)現(xiàn)代物流發(fā)展的若干意見(jiàn)》??梢灶A(yù)見(jiàn),21世紀(jì),我國(guó)將是物流大發(fā)展的時(shí)代,我國(guó)將更進(jìn)一步融入國(guó)際社會(huì)。     我國(guó)的物流教育也十分落后,這就造成了現(xiàn)代物流綜合性人才、企業(yè)尤其是流通企業(yè)改造傳統(tǒng)物流與加強(qiáng)物流管理、城市規(guī)劃與物流系統(tǒng)運(yùn)籌、第三方物流企業(yè)的運(yùn)作技術(shù)操作等現(xiàn)代物流人才嚴(yán)重匱乏的局面,阻礙了經(jīng)濟(jì)的發(fā)展和經(jīng)濟(jì)效益的提高。據(jù)統(tǒng)計(jì),物流人才是全國(guó)12種緊缺人才之一,物流規(guī)劃人員、物流管理人員、物流研究人員,物流師資全面緊缺。據(jù)預(yù)測(cè):到2010年大專以上物流人才的需求量為30~40萬(wàn)人,物流技術(shù)操作和營(yíng)銷人才需求近3萬(wàn)人。如果我們不加快現(xiàn)代物流管理與技術(shù)人才的培養(yǎng),終將成為我國(guó)現(xiàn)代物流產(chǎn)業(yè)發(fā)展的瓶頸,物流產(chǎn)業(yè)化就成了一句空話。     正是在這種背景下,《物流英語(yǔ)》系列教材應(yīng)需而生。該教材成套出版,聽(tīng)、說(shuō)、讀、寫(xiě)共計(jì)四種,包括:1、《物流英語(yǔ)閱讀教程》 2、《物流英語(yǔ)聽(tīng)力教程》 3、《物流英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)教程》 4、《物流英語(yǔ)寫(xiě)作教程》。

  第33-34頁(yè)Making Inquiries and Replies  Part I.Definition of Letter of Inquiries  When an importer intends to make purchases of some goods.He sends a letter of inquiry to an exporter.An inquiry is made to seek the supply of products,service or information.  In international trade,when you write to request some specific information usually about,buying of a certain commodity,this kind of letter is called"Inquiry".In this sense,the letter to start business with other companies can also be taken as a kind of inquiry letter to inquiry about the possibility of doing business with other companies in a certain line. In a general inquiry,the importer may only ask for catalogues,price,samples or some other materials from the exporter.If both parties have never dealt with each other before,the importer should inform the exDorter the source of his information at the beginning of his letter.The importer who sends the letter may require information such as price,discount,quantity,terms of payment,delivery date.etc. Part II.Rules for Wdting LeRem of Inquides When you make an inquiry,begin with the questions you want tO ask:your reader then knows at once what your inquiry is about.Keep your inquiry short and to the point.For instance,you may want to ask for information about price,discount,quantity,terms of payment,delivery date,etc.,regarding some definite goods in addition to reference materials.Inquiries should be specific and provide the necessary details to enable the receiver to answer the questions completely. As soon as you receive the necessary information,you should find the products are fine in quality and reasonable in price.If you decide to buy,you may send a specific inquiry,mentioning not only the name of thearticle but also the quantity and other particulars.
