前言
作為一套供網絡教育專升本以及高升本學生使用的英語教材,《英語實用教程》自出版以來一直得到廣大師生的熱情支持。在出版近十年之際,我們對原有教材進行了內容和形式上的全面更新,根據國家網絡教育考試委員會于2007年制定頒布的網絡教育統(tǒng)考課程考試大綱,編寫了《新編英語實用教程》?! 缎戮幱⒄Z實用教程》充分考慮網絡教育的特點,即成人學習、業(yè)余學習和網絡學習。在教程的編寫中,結合網絡教育學生的實際水平,針對自學為主的需求,充分利用多媒體教學手段,幫助學生掌握相關詞匯和語法知識,培養(yǎng)和訓練讀、寫、譯、說的技能。教程共四冊,包括:《新編英語實用教程》(配有光盤)(1、2冊)和《新編英語實用教程學習指導書》(1、2冊),教學PPT課件及其他相關參考資料也將陸續(xù)推出?! 缎戮幱⒄Z實用教程》緊扣新頒布的統(tǒng)考大綱,重點突出,內容精煉?! “凑沾缶V詞匯表編排教材詞匯:以大綱中大學英語C級詞匯作為學生已掌握的基本詞匯,在此基礎上,分別列出大學英語B級詞匯以及超綱詞(帶*的單詞)。標識清楚,詞義全面,例句充分,方便學生學習、掌握大綱所要求的詞匯、短語及其用法。 大綱中所包含題型——交際英語、閱讀、完形填空、詞匯語法、翻譯、寫作——在本教程各單元練習中均有體現,既使學生熟悉統(tǒng)考題型,也訓練學生掌握各種技能,并在此基礎上熟練運用解題技巧?! 缎戮幱⒄Z實用教程》采用主題教學模式,即每個單元的課文設置圍繞一個主題,提供大量相互聯系的語言樣本,語匯的復現率高。根據語言認知理論,反復的、同一主題的語言輸入有助于學生對年學語言內容有消化和吸收。
內容概要
本書為《新編英語實用教程》學生用書第1冊,共分為十個單元,每單元由四個部分組成,即Focus on Reading,Focus on Grammar,Focus on Writing和Focus on Speaking。第一部分Focus on Reading包括三篇文章:Basic Reading(基本閱讀課文),Extensive Reading(泛讀課文)和Supplementary Reading(補充閱讀)。Basic Reading為主課文,是每個單元學習的重點,包括生詞表、注釋、課文理解練習、詞匯語法練習、翻譯練習以及完形填空練習。Extensive Reading作為主課文的補充,同樣配有課文理解練習、詞匯語法練習、翻譯練習。Supplementary Reading采用一篇短文配五個閱讀理解選擇題的形式,可用作學生對自己閱讀理解能力的自測。本教程根據網絡教育學生的特點和需要,增設Focus on Grammar,即語法知識體系的介紹以及配套的練習。其后的Focus on Writing提供作文題目以及中英文的參考詞匯;Focus on Speaking則按照交際功能劃分,各單元該部分內容由一段對話和數道交際英語練習題組成。

A Good Lesson A young man, a smart university student, was one day taking a walk with a professor, who was commonly called the students friend, from his kindness to those who waited on his instructions. As they went along, they saw lying in the path a pair of old shoes, which they supposed to belong to a poor man who was employed in a field close by, and who had nearly finished his days work. The student turned to the professor, saying: "Let us play a trick on the man: we will hide his shoes, and conceal ourselves behind those bushes, and wait to see how puzzled he will be when he cannot find them." "My young friend," answered the professor, "we should never amuse ourselves at the expense of the poor. But you are rich, and may give yourself a much greater pleasure by means of helping the poor man. Put a coin into each shoe, and then we will hide ourselves and watch how the discovery affects him." The student did so, and they both placed themselves behind the bushes close by. The poor man soon finished his work, and came across the field to the path where he had left his coat and shoes. While putting on his coat he slipped his foot into one of the shoes; but feeling something hard, he stooped down to feel what it was, and found the coin.2 Astonishment and wonder were seen upon his face. He gazed upon the coin, turned it round, and looked at it again and again. He then looked around him on all sides, but no person was to be seen. He now put the money into his pocket, and proceeded to put on the other shoe; but his surprise was doubled on finding the other coin. His feelings overcame him; he fell upon his knees, looked up to heaven and uttered aloud a fervent thanksgiving, in which he spoke of his wife, sick and helpless, and his children without bread, whom the timely kindness, from some unknown hand, would save from dying.
