大學英語快速閱讀新導學（第1冊）

前言

　　大學英語教學的目的是培養(yǎng)學生具有較強的閱讀能力和一定的聽說讀寫譯能力，使他們能用英語交流信息。大學英語教學應幫助學生打下扎實的語言基礎，掌握良好的語言學習方法，提高文化素養(yǎng)，即具有較強的英語綜合應用能力，以適應社會發(fā)展和經濟發(fā)展的需要。教育部頒發(fā)的英語教學大綱中，閱讀的基本要求（四級）是：能順利閱讀語言難度中等的一般性題材的文章，掌握中心大意以及說明中心大意的事實和細節(jié)，并能進行一定的分析、推理和判斷，領會作者的觀點和態(tài)度，閱讀速度達到每分鐘70詞。在閱讀篇幅較長、難度略低、生詞不超過總詞數3％的材料時，能掌握中心大意，抓住主要事實和有關細節(jié)，閱讀速度達到每分鐘100 詞?！　￠喿x理解始終都是各類測試的最重要內容，所占分數比重大。閱讀理解既是英語學習和英語測試的重要手段，又是英語學習的終極目的之一。英語閱讀是一種創(chuàng)造性的思維勞動，它不僅涉及語音、語法、詞語這些最基本的語言要素，而且還包括許多非語言因素，如文化知識背景、思維習慣等?！　‖F有的大學英語教材雖然種類繁多，但能真正幫助學生、針對性較強地解決學生閱讀能力的教材卻寥寥無幾。在多年的教學實踐中，我們深深感到，要有的放矢地提高學生的英語閱讀能力，必須有相適應的英語閱讀教材。其特點必須是由淺人深、體裁廣泛、文體多樣、趣味性強，既可作教材，在課堂內使用，更重要的是，還可由學生在課外自主閱讀。閱讀量課內外的比例應是1：4左右。而由于課時原因，閱讀不可能全部在課堂內進行，還必須在課外加強。這就要求我們必須給學生準備大量的快速閱讀及泛讀材料?！　¤b于以上種種因素，我們在總結幾十年教學經驗的基礎上，并根據學生的實際情況，殫精竭慮編寫了這套《大學英語快速閱讀新導學》。其目的就是讓學生接觸到大量以英語國家為背景的社會、人文、政治、經濟、娛樂等方方面面的文字材料，創(chuàng)造出一個模擬的英文環(huán)境，在老師的幫助下，拓寬學生的視野。我們的編寫原則是強調材料的數量及多樣性。

內容概要

《大學英語快速閱讀新導學》共有四冊，每冊分為8個單元，每單元由4篇閱讀文章組成。文章主要選自當代最新的英文報紙和英文著作，題材廣泛，涵蓋文化、教育、歷史、地理、科技、經濟、友情、親情、校園生活等，并與學生的學習、生活密切相關，是大學生提高詞匯量、擴展知識面、培養(yǎng)英語學習興趣的好幫手。所有文章的內容思想健康，具有知識性、時代性和趣味性，既可提高學生的英語素養(yǎng)，又能增強學生的綜合運用能力。每篇閱讀文章配有針對性強、形式多樣的練習，設有選擇題、正誤判斷、翻譯和問答題等題型，以增進英語的習得。所有練習均給出了參考答案。    在培養(yǎng)閱讀能力的教學過程中，應在密切關注“快速閱讀”的基礎上，著重關注以下幾個方面：理解文章的主旨和要義，理解文章的具體信息，根據上下文推斷生詞的詞義，根據文章做出簡單的推斷和推理，理解文章的基本結構，理解作者的意圖、觀點和態(tài)度。另外必須注意的是：相應練習總是以文章為根據，這就是說，答案要在文章中找到根據。因此，我們不僅要求學生注意詞匯、語法和閱讀理解三大語言要素，掌握一定的語言背景知識，掌握閱讀技巧，并有一定的分析和理解能力，同時還希望在注重量的同時注重閱讀速度。    閱讀是一個循序漸進、厚積薄發(fā)的過程，所以這套叢書分為四冊，由淺入深，最后達到大學英語四級所要求的詞匯量、閱讀量和閱讀速度。    本冊是《大學生英語快速閱讀新導學》的第一冊。本冊為學生提供了比較系統(tǒng)的、豐富多彩的閱讀材料和課外閱讀材料，其目的是培養(yǎng)學生養(yǎng)成正確的快速閱讀習慣，在大量閱讀中了解英美文化，擴大詞匯量。

The world is very beautiful on the other side of the wall. Yes, it is！ Scratch your head and think what qualities should you have to become an above average person. Ask yourself how you should look, act and behave. Be honest with yourself and decide whether you look like an above average person. If not, then think what steps you need to take. Improve your education and professional skills, improve your health and physical structure, improve your communication skills, improve your relations with colleagues and friends, improve your job environment, improve your domestic life, improve your social circle, improve your habits and life style, improve whatever needs to be improved. Change yourself completely from inside and outside to fit into the posture （姿態(tài)） of an above average person. Change your thinking, change your belief, change your life style, change everything that needs to be changed. Remember, you cannot become an above average person by associating yourself with negative （消極的） people. Give a copy of this article to your friends and ask their opinions.
